FAKE union! They are for the employers and not the employees!The only way to describe them, is utterly disgusting, it's the nicest and only word I can give them without being vulgar!

From experience they are too chummy with the employers, pleasing them yet we pay for being a part of their membership, a waste of time. I give them credit for their benefits and training services and that goes with employer-accommodating, decisions and provisions that don't require membership vote, notice or participation, agreements made with those in positions and employers, sub standard representations. No wonder companies are more in favor of them! The low rating of CLAC on this site, speaks for it self. Most have labeled this union as fake, why? Labour union is defined as an organization that represents the rights and interests of workers, in this case CLAC has failed many workers in their purpose and has shown lacking in working for the interest of the workers and members.

An excellent union. Unlike some unions they are responsible and don't go on strike for no good reason until their workers are permanently unemployed, but they do fight hard to make sure their members enjoy above average pay, excellent benefits, and a safe and humane work environment.

They're in bed with the employers.It's all about collecting the dues.

Their sole purpose for existing is to prevent NEW and IGNORANT employees from joining a real union, this is a one-sided organization who follow the mandate of the employer, no job security, no job protection, all biased.

Worst union you can ever work for

Worked for an owner operator but didn't get paid. Was told by clac bc I paid half dues they wouldn't go after my pay and bc I'm in a union I can't pursue with the lrb

I was hired by North American construction in the Nanaimo waste water treatment plant upgrade. North American construction is a CLAC Union company and I heard not so great things about them. But it turned out to be the best union I ever been with and I was with 3 other unions, so I know what I'm talking about and if you go CLAC I guarantee you will not regret that decision:)Happy Sunday everyone!!
