St. Saviour's Heritage Church
St. Saviour’s is a former Anglican church (closed in 2010) with an interesting history. The community started out on Esquimalt road as a mission church of St. Paul’s Esquimalt in 1888. It was called The Victoria West Episcopalian Mission Church of the Holy Saviour, and the pastor was William Davin Barber.Wanting its own church by 1890 the congregation the congregation got the land and built it for $2644, finally commissioning it for service in May 19, 1891.It had a bell donated by the Dunsmuir family that came from one of the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway locomotives. You can see the E&N Railyard just across the road near the water (see the historic plaque).
