A modest, low-key restaurant with big flavourful dishes, complex recipes and very filling portions are perfect for a quick bite or delicious sit-down supper. A simple and direct yet varied menu makes it easy to chose a meal for any mood.

Authentic Thai food in a casual setting. Welcoming service! We got the fried chicken wings, pad Thai and this pork dish. Pad Thai was one of the best I had, not heavy on the sauce. Fried chicken was really crispy and delicious. Pork dish had good flavor but was a bit salty. Would come back for the pad Thai and try more dishes !

Pumpui surprise me with real Thai basil and closest Thai food taste in Montreal. I was told about this restaurant by one of bartender who works in another place. This restaurant is in little Italy area, more of local people. It is very small place and small menu, but the taste can impress me.- Pad Kaprao: must try! with Thai basil leaves and if you ask them to make Thai spicy, this dish can make you cry.- Pad Thai with shrimp: why not? I have been eaten Pad Thai in so many restaurants outside and inside Thailand. I can say it is not bad at all.- Pad Pakboong: sautéed Morning glory with soybean paste. Somehow I feel a bit weird of the taste of this dish. I don't know what sauce brand they use but not the same as Thai soybean paste taste.Service is super casual and easy, has signature Thai style condiment, plate and dishes are Thai local design. So, if you really want to eat Thai food in Montreal that taste close to the way Thai people cook in Thailand, Pumpui is the choice for you.

The food isn't authentic. Food tasted ok but not good, tasted like an impression of Thai food rather than real Thai food. But again, this is Montreal, the food here tastes like an impression of the cuisine most of the time. The green curry is watery, too sweet, does not have much spice flavour, has all the wrong vegetables and the fish ball is from a packet. They charge about $20cad for the green curry. The pad Thai is even sadder, tasted like soggy noodle with not much flavour. Again almost $20 for that. I had high hopes for the place but it didn't hold up.Won't come back.

The papaya salad was perfect, really stood out to me. So fresh and tasty, I would crave it again. The pad Thai was decent but didn’t stand out. The curry was a little awkward to eat, one huge piece of potato and the chicken wasn’t deboned so it kind of took away from the experience. But the thing that made this review 3 stars instead of 4 was the chicken. Although texturally good, and nicely fried, the chicken was not thoroughly washed before cooking. Maybe I have a sensitive nose with this because my boyfriend didn’t notice it much but for me having grown up washing my chicken with vinegar and salt and flour, I couldn’t stand the smell of it. Wash your chicken. Please.

Wow, what a great! I tried the green Curry and the chicken wings and it was very delicious, the Curry is very spicy it is only for lovers of this type of food, the atmosphere and the attention were perfect.I warn you the only annoying thing is that the place is very small and you can be lucky enough to wait outside for a long time to get in, also finding a parking space in that sector is a nightmare, however I recommend trying it, it's worth it.

This is definitely one of my favourite Thai restaurants outside of Thailand! The food, the vibe, all the way to the utensils and serve wares are giving the right feeling of being at an authentic Thai restaurant. The staffs are very friendly and passionate, always serving you with a smile and warm fuzzy sensation. This place will give you a boost to your belly and your soul!

All of the food I had ordered—green curry, chicken wings, and pad Thai—was merely average and not outstanding, as other reviews had stated. The table was incredibly small, and the  restaurant was tiny.
