This is an old building that seems dark inside. Our friend we were visiting was in a room at the end of a dead end hallway. Everything is old. It seems kind of depressing. I can’t imagine what it must be like living here but it can’t be great. The actual place where the building is nice, it borders a ravine. The areas that I saw were clean.

I'mhappy that my good friend has a place to stay when it is so hard to find places to be.

My grandparents were in this home when it first opened and when both of them died the funeral home said we should sue the home because they had huge bed sores on their bottoms. Then recently my friend had her mother there and she was never dressed for the day and remained in a recliner the whole day. I would rather be homeless than be put in this home.

When my friend was placed in Hardisty I was immediately impressed with their instant evaluation of her needs and requirements, the immediate discontinuation of unneeded meds, and her almost immediate return to her normal.

My Parent Was There and Boy We were Disappointed. The Building Was An Old Apartment Building That Was Converted Into A Nursing Home in The 1950's Or 60's. Hasn't Been Updated as Far as I Can Tell . They Don't Really Spend Time With Residents. They Just Plop Them In Front Of The TV and Don't Talk To Them. Unless Of Course You Are Their Favorite, Like I Was Informed When My Parent Was Switched Into A New Room. We Were Told That They Did Exercises with my parent and Had Them up and walking. That was a lie as My Parent Could Barely Walk 15 Steps. Bedrooms are So Small The Residents Can Almost Reach Out and Touch The Head Or Foot of Roommate. Bathroom So Small You Can Not Fit A Wheelchair or a Commode Inside. Staff Do Not Call Residents by Their Names. They Call Them Momma or Poppa and Grandma Or Grandpa. This Is Not Good For Dementia Patients. They Would Think That That Person Is Somehow Related and Get More Confused. Very Disappointed. Because Of Their Policy With Covid, I Couldn't Come and See My parent Even Though I Was An Essential Persons For Mental Health Reasons. So Was Not Allowed Up From October 2020 ( a Few Weeks After Arriving) Until Move. Other Facilities In and Around Edmonton Had Visits Back In Late November. I Couldn't Visit Until Feb 2021. Too Long Between Visits For Someone With Dementia. No Recreational Programs, No Physio, No Occupational Therapy. So Basically All The Staff Did Was Get Residents Up On Somedays and Feed Them, Then Plop Them In Front Of A TV. No Talking To Them Or Anything. Mental Health Suffers Greatly If Residents Are Not Being Engaged In Conversation. Very Happy that My Parent No Longer Lives There.

If i could give 0 stars i would. This jail of a so called senior care home will have health care aides neglect the residence with no remorse. Sure some of the staff are good, but my grandma has told me the neglectful health care aides will also tell other staff to ignore her. The only saving angels in the facility are the nurses who always answer my questions when I visit.

The past few months my wife has been in the care the staff they have provided excellent care at all levels.The staff is always paying attention to the needs of their charges. Is what i observed..:The staff is alway including me with updates on changing conditions when they happen.The staff is caring in a natural attitude they are very attentive to the needs of my wife.

They never let my mother know that I have called her. So I m very disappointed with this facility

The care staff is amazing. The nurses, well Parm you will always have a place in my heart. The OT department is above and beyond. Christine Umutoni.
