Collingwood Bottle Exchange

Good to return non alcoholic bottles here. With alcoholic beverages the rates are not at par with other return-it centers. It smells bad and not organized very well. Parking could be a challenge.This is the nearest to my location and I may have to keep coming here unfortunately.

Its smelly and sticky here, and there are a lot of big fat flies. But it's a bottle depot. I give it 4 stars cuz the owner and staff are usually quite nice and this location is very close to home, so its convenient.

Good amount of parking. Decent cleanliness considering they take your dirty bottles and recycle for the environment. Very quick service.

Have had many bad experiences at this location. If I can I drive over to the one on Buller Ave. It's practically the other side of the city and it's worth it.First off, do not expect a full refund on alcohol containers. They pay back less than the deposit.Staff is not very friendly and can sometimes be outright rude. Was trying to stack my containers on the side of the counter as they helped someone else one time, and staff kept placing empty trays in my way, and as I struggled with hands full to put things down they started giving me a hard time, telling me to put them to the side (which I was trying to do until they shoved empty trays right where they could see I was putting things).Parking can be a challenge, as can manuevering inside since it is such a small location.If you have a car and more than a couple bucks in containers I would highly recommend taking them elsewhere.

Five sorting tables. Fast service, but it's limited by YOUR sorting speed. Friendly staff in my case. I was there at around 4pm on a Thursday, only about a 30 second wait for cashier. No wasps, but it's not that time of year.

I would steer clear of this Return-it depot if you don't want to recieve the wrath of a frustrated male employee. He actually threw boxes at me mumbling something angrily at me without making eye contact. Then he tried to short me but luckily his co-worker fixed the discrepancy. There are also a lot of wasps at this location. No doubt a nearby nest that they refuse to deal with. It's pretty clean though, so govern yourself accordingly.

They are super helpful and smiley to other asian customers. If you are not asian though, they short change you AND talk extremely rudely to you. It's not a language barrier at all, they speak great english. Simply an extremely ignorant race barrier unfortunately... Would highly recommend another facility in the area that's not so hateful. Was never so shocked with how differently they treat people by race. Sickening!

Easy and fast to return bottles and get money as my first time. I went back to start my car but I found out it wasn't working. I appreciated and thanked the owner's family so much for helping me to recharge my car. They are very friendly and helpful.

An old woman I saw, was asking the employee to help since she is not good at walking. Actually, she already sorted the bottle, only waiting for the employee to collect the bottle from the desk. However, the employee ignored her and kept serving the next customer.She had to walk very hard to move the bottle from the desk to the cashier.I let her go first.After that, I saw the 3 employees helping a customer who was in front of the old woman, this customer without sorting the bottle, who just told the cashier how many bottles were inside her plastic bag, and those three employees sort it on the cashier.It is very easy to ask the customer to sort the bottle, however, they didn't.They serve a customer with three employees but ignore an old woman who needed help.At last, my turn. They even count the bottles wrong. I don't argue with them, only a few bottles, since they already waste a lot of my time. However, I will never visit this store again.

The Collingwood Kingsway Bottle Exchange is rather small compared to the other locations. Most of the time it's pretty busy so you may have to wait your turn to count all your bottles and cans. There's an express option if you don't want to wait around.1) Sign up for an account on their website.2) Enter your phone number into the kiosk and print labels.3) Stick 1 label on each bag of recycling (bags must be clear).4) The containers will be counted for you, and the money will be direct deposited into your account. You can even export an excel that shows the quantities of each container that was counted.The only catch is that there is no guarantee that they will accurately count your bags. The first time I went to the Collingwood location, only 5 out of the 6 total bags were counted. I went again this weekend and tried my luck at the 2639 Kingsway location, and only 5 out of the 7 bags were counted. If contactless drop off is more of a priority to you then this would be a great option. But if you actually care about getting the accurate $ amount, the best way is to just count it all yourself.
