The food is good, but I think in 2023 it wouldn't hurt to have some modern signs, simple directions, and menu/prices inside the store for new customers to look at. Nowadays there is a lot of demand for vegetarian food and south Indian food, especially in Toronto, so making the shop a little more accessible for new customers could go a long way.

It was our first time trying food from this restaurant. They had so many dishes. They also take orders. You can order ahead and pick it up. We ordered puttu kothu and veg noodles. I also got vadai and onion bajji. They are tasty. I liked the puttu kothu much. Thank you:)

Very good food at an excellent price. For under $10, I got kottu roti (pictured), potato roll, bhaji, and a roti. Friendly service the last few times I've been there.

To the local guide further down the reviews who complained that’s his chutney turned bad in their fridge and then talks about it being stale afterwards….if you’re gonna give 1 star and then claim rotten food the next day while talking about it being actually stale…you’re either lying or stale and turned bad means the same to youAnyways this place had a lot of food that looked really good. I just finished dinner so just got some samosas, was pretty tasty and line up of people at 8:30 on a weekday must mean there’s something good here. However….I give this place 3 stars cause the samosa was only kinda warm, despite it being delicious. I will definitely come back and try the other food and report back.

I visited this place recently and tried their Potato Curry, Roti and also tried their Sweet Fruit Salad, Pasta, Spicy Eggplant Curry, Cheese slice, Spring roll, Onion Pakora etc and all of this items are really good as well. Also staff is very quick and friendly too

Amazing food for such a great price. Got banana leaf food for $11 and it was so filling and SO delicious. Worth it for the price. This could feed 3-4 adults easily till they're stuffed. In the picture we mixed everything. Curry comes on top of the rice separate

I was in the neighbourhood and felt like masala dosa so I came to Datta. The place seems well managed. It is for pick up orders only with no seating. I got masala dosa ($8.50) as well as dal vadas (5 for $2), onion bhajjas (5 for $2) and the largest mehndu vada I have ever seen ($1.50). The food was decent, the masala dosas were nice and crispy. I noticed they also sell 5 samosas for $1 and there was a lady who picked up 400 samosas. I would recommend this place.

Everything is vegetarian here!Love the 5 for $1 samosa deal! While in there, the display of so many dishes and aromas made me curious to try a few dishes, as well as their roti filled with potatoes. Trying an eggplant dish plus puttu.Wish I would've remembered to take pictures inside the store.

Very nice service if you admit you have no idea what you are ordering and asking for recommendations! The nice lady behind the counter let me sample a few dishes to see if I would like them before ordering.The place is takeout and the taste is wonderful. Everything if vegetarian.$1 for 5 samosas is also a nice side :)

Hawker type of food is very rare to see in Canada and that too a vegetarian place.They have lots of options to choose from and the food is appetising.Definitely my go to place for food take out if I am in Scarborough
