Firestone Tower
All that is essentially leftover is the steel tower for what once was the Firestone Tire Company's Calgary tire plant; once located on this site overlooking the Bow River, downtown and the Rocky Mountains to the West. In operation from the early 60's until almost 1980, the tower now sits derelict on an open field above the North entrance to the Barlow Ctrain Station and transit bus turn around. It is easily visible from both Barlow and Deerfoot Trails, as well as Memorial Drive.
