Arbutus Service Centre is an honest, transparent and reasonable mechanic shop. They have helped me many times with my 2006 suv. Great communication from Steve and the rest of the team. They will not embellish what needs to be serviced. I have and would in the future recommend Arbutus Service Centre to friends and family.

Steve and the team here do fantastic work. My car was in and out on the same day both times I’ve visited. I got a comprehensive breakdown of the service done as well as an explanation as to why the car needed it which really settled the nerves. Ill absolutely come back here should I have a need, its been nothing but a pleasure dealing with Arbutus Service Centre.

I was visiting from out of town for work and my Company truck a dodge 3500 dually which I depend on for my livelihood, started have rear brake issues, I was told to dropped it off at 8:00 and they would see what they could do. I had the truck back good as new by 5:00. Honest group of mechanics and did the job right and at a very reasonable price! Best part is I didn’t have any down time as I need my truck for my livelihood . Thanks again guys!

Tremendous service. I was referred to by a friend who was absolutely correct when he boasted of his many years of satisfaction with these folks. It’s a bit of a distance from Downtown - but I don’t think I’ll ever use another service station. PS - every single mechanic or employee that came through the office while I was there acknowledged me as a customer when they passed by. Impressive team management!

Arbutus Service Centre was recommended to me. I called to book an appointment and had my car towed by BCAA. My car sat for 4 days at Arbutus Service Centre. I understand this is a business and they are a busy. However, when I would reach out to ask what the problem was with my car, I received very little to no response. There were no call backs to give me an update. After a few days I called again but I felt I was getting the runaround. This made me feel like I was wasting their time. When I finally called back and spoke with Steve, he confirmed it was a cooling system issue, they found a leaky hose that needed replacing, and the serpentine belt also needed to be replaced. I was finally happy to hear something, and it would hopefully be an easy repair. . I asked if I could pick up my car later that day? Steve said, he would call me back and let me know. Never heard back all day. By 4:30pm I called and spoke with Steve and I asked if I could stop by and pick up my Saab. He said they were closing. I was upset and explained that I had waited in all day to hear back. I also had arranged with my sister to drive me to Arbutus Service Centre to retrieve my vehicle. He asked how long we would be and I said 15 minute. Traffic was horrible and I had never been to this garage before. Finally when we arrived I went in and Steve was sitting at the desk. I introduced myself. I asked was everything running properly and no more leaky hoses? I paid him the $430.00, and thanked him. I got into my car and as I started to drive off, I noticed the coolant light came on the dashboard saying I was low on coolant fluid. I thought perhaps there was a small glitch and it would repair itself. I called Steve the next day (Saturday) and I asked if he had topped the reservoir with coolant. He assured me he had. Again the next day the coolant light would repeatedly come back on. When I arrived home I popped the hood to have a look and sure enough the coolant reservoir was low on coolant, and it had not been topped with antifreeze. At first I wanted to give Steve the benefit of the doubt to his original response, “Yes” antifreeze was topped.” I went to Canadian tire and bought an All year coolant. I filled it to the line where it says cold. Three days later my car computer light again came on and it said the coolant was low again! I stopped to fill it again and then it happened again. By now I’m thinking something definitely isn’t right, and I phone Steve dreading this conversation, and I explain that I have had to fill my car 3x’s since he replaced the hose. He said it could be something else, and if I wanted to bring it again he was only available on such and such days and to call him to let him know what day I was planning to bring it in. Fast forward…I had to go to Canadian Tire today to replace my headlight bulbs on my car. In order to do this they would have to remove the bumper. This morning as they are replacing the lights the mechanic brings to my attention a leak? I asked if he was able to determine where it was coming from? He said after replacing the headlights he would have to shampoo under the engine to see where the leak was coming from. When he was able to detect the leak he had me come over and show me what was the problem. There was this hard yellow piece, he called it a “T” connector contraption that shouldn’t have been installed to replace the coolant rubber hose. To top it off this T-connector had a small crack and this is where he was able to determine where the leak was. I was in complete shock. This wasn’t anything that resembled a rubber hose. (I pulled out the invoice from Arbutus Service Centre and showed it to the mechanic. This T-connector did not resemble anything like a hose. (This was NOT A HOSE). I paid $430.00 for service I never got). My invoice at Canadian Tire for parts and labour were under $150. For this reason I felt compelled to share my horrible experience about Arbutus Service Centre. Never again!!
