Parallel 49 Brewing Company
Although parallel 49th isn't in the most glamorous location for food, the place itself is pretty wonderful if you need a place for a large group and good beer. You should know that you must first order your food and drink before sitting down. Food is best ordered to share, even though the portion sizes aren't the biggest, they aren't the smallest either, nor are they the best presented dishes. For a brewery, this place has a decent kitchen, mostly fried offerings. Where they really excel, is the choice and quality of beer! They definitely have something for every beer lover in terms of flavors. I typically like to sit on their outdoor patio, but the inside of the building is also a great spot to hang out. Overall, if you have a large group of people and want to catch up, this place will seat you almost immediately and will feed everyone, within a reasonable budget.

Been drinking there beer for while and just discovered the actual brewery today. It’s quite a cool setup . Huge indoor outdoor patio beer hall setup. Indoor food truck if you get hungry. Quite a good food selection as well! I would highly recommend this one to add to you easy van brewery tour!

I've been here a few times now, and some things have been true every time: the staff is super-friendly. The service is fantastic. The food is amazing. If you like beer, this is one of the places to be.And the kicker: they allow dogs, at least on the patio.Highly recommended.

It's been a few years since my last visit to Parallell 49 Brewing. There's an-in-house food truck, Street Kitchen, along with a massive outdoor sitting area.28 beers on tap along with muddlers, seltzers, soda pops, Oddity Kombucha and a radler. There's a small HH menu.- Flight (~$12.00) - favourite was the sour ale, although light on the fruit flavour. The hopped sour wasn't too hoppy and grapefruit came through. The juicy IPA was very light. Brown ale had a strange finish.- Czech dark lager ($7.75) - not much going on taste wise.P49 is popular but beers are run of the mill.

Sooooo many choices for beer! The pretzels are really good. Huge patio and the restaurant opens to the street. Close to lots of other breweries in East Van. But… the smell of the chicken processing plant is brutal in May/June.

I was working nearby and needed a quick meal. A friend suggested Parallel 49, so we went and grabbed a couple sandwiches – he got the spicy crispy chicken and I got the grilled chicken sandwich. At $18 bucks each, these aren't cheap, as that doesn't even include a few fries or other side. But quality doesn't come cheap, and my grilled chicken sandwich was among the best I've ever had.The chicken breast was big enough to overflow the bun, and it was grilled to juicy and flavourful perfection. The generous slab of brie, fresh arugula, and tangy tarragon aoili made for a meal considerably better than I'd expected. I'll absolutely be back.
