Disclaimer: This review is for future consumers and my comments about the course conditions are mainly impacted by their winter weather.Customer Service: The staff was fantastic and extremely friendly. Really enjoyed my interactions with everyone.Course Conditions: Back to my original comment, the course conditions were brutal due to a tough winter (writing this in July). Everything from the tee boxes to the greens are in rough shape.Layout: Based on prior reviews I was really looking forward to the layout given the surrounding terrain. Other than the beautiful backdrops the course layout was below average. There wasn’t one hole that stuck out to me after the round. There are only two holes on the lake which is an absolute shame given how gorgeous it is. Their signature hole is on the lake and it is one of the worst golf holes I have ever played. Dogleg left, wind pushing hard left to right (off the lake) and trees blocking the center of the fairway. Good luck if you can’t hit a 40 yard draw as a righty.Value (BIGGEST ISSUE): I have been playing golf for 15+ years with many rounds under my belt. This is by far the worst value I have experienced. My wife and I played with a cart and it costed us $460. I kid you not, if they reduced the greens fee to $50 I would maybe consider playing there again. This is truly a supply and demand play where there is a lot of tourism and no other golf course in sight.

Course is not in good condition. A lot of winter overkill on the fairways and the greens are not in good shape. Two greens were mostly sand. Not worth the price you pay. However the staff is great and the views are amazing

I arrived at this course with lots of excitement, after hearing excellent reviews over the past few years. We were extremely disappointed in the course conditions, along with the lack of transparency in the present state of the course. We paid discounted green fees as we played early season and received the Alberta residents rate. Even at a discounted rate, my group did not feel the current course conditions matched the cost. We understand winter weather can alter course conditions, but again there was no transparency. We played Saturday, May 27th. Below is an example of fairway condition. Bunkers and greens were also in subpar conditions. The two stars account for the well designed course and friendly staff.

The greens are a little rough in spots and still pretty slow, a few fairways with some patches. I had a great time though and thought the layout was spectacular. The members we played with were a ton of fun and super nice. Don’t be scared off by some of the reviews I still think it’s worth the play. The one review saying the signature hole is bad is hilarious. It’s a 100 yard gap between trees and you don’t need to hit “a 40 yard draw”. Beautifully designed hole. Jake needs to hit the range and stop whining.

We played the front nine. The course was beautiful with many picture perfect views. We ate at the restaurant outside the clubhouse after the round. Relaxed setting. Haley our server was very pleasant and gave us great local recommendations for the rest of our trip. Nicholas was our chef, food was cooked to perfection. Fresh ingredients and great flavors. If you’re playing a round, would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite to eat after your round!

May 27th 2023 - I flew in three non Alberta residence for a business golf trip.We had golfed Banff Springs and Silvertip the two previous days. This course was in very rough condition compared to the other two despite silvertip having a high pressure gas line through their course in which they were upfront and honest about.I know snow pack and temperatures do effect the course earlier in the season but the lack of transparency and saying this course is better then Banff no question definitely set expectations well above the reality. The total cost was 740 dollars Canadian for green fees. The fairways and bunkers were in subpar conditions and their crown jewel holes were in just as bad conditions. If there was no lake at this course it would be a 50 dollar municipal course considering the shape that the greens, bunkers, and fairways were in.Rate of play was around 5 hours which is ok for a resort course and the staff was amazing in tending to any issues that arose.Wildlife was present which was nice for the guests flying in but overall the drive up through the Icefield parkway was more memorable then the 18 we played. This may seem harsh but the review is for the consumers information and considering the location of this golf course and the price tag attached I would phone ahead and ask what conditions the course is truly in before taking the 3+ hour drive.

This is a wonderful course I would relish the opportunity to play again one day. I played on August 9th 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed the unique layout. The course is challenging but very playable. It's design fits the land and topography without any unnatural feeling holes. The fairways and greens are an exceptionally good condition. Finally, the golf course is surrounded by the most incredible and captivating alpine beauty. Next time, I will be sure to spend more time here.

Based on the awards on their website and the cost of over CAD$300 for green fees and club hire, I was expecting a really special round, but was sadly disappointed. The scenery and views were amazing but the course was well below average with lots of really scruffy areas on fairways and greens. Appreciate the grass takes time to recover from the winter, but no excuses for bunkers being overgrown with grass and covered in animal scraps. I didn’t see any green staff during the entire round, which maybe explains the state of the course. Just not worth the money!!
