I have been taking my dogs to Megan for scent detection training for several years now. Megan is an exceptional trainer!

We’ve been training with Megan since September 2020 and it’s been such a positive experience for not only my dog but myself as well. We first heard of Nosework thru our breeder when we were navigating thru a difficult adolescent phase and she suggested I reach out to a local trainer. These classes have been the best thing for both my dog and myself. Theo gets so excited every Sunday as we make the drive down!! It’s been so amazing watching his progress thru all the different levels and seeing him learn and grow each week. Taking these classes has also helped me tremendously both as a handler and personally with my confidence to the point we’ve begun to enter some Nosework Trials! I can’t thank Megan enough for what her classes have done for Theo and myself. Highly recommend to everyone!!!

When we were searching for a positive reinforcement trainer to bring our puppy to, Megan was exactly what we were looking for! She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and did an excellent job teaching us humans how to communicate effectively with our dog. It's easy to tell that she loves dogs and has a thorough understanding of dog behaviour. She is also very accessible outside of in-person classes, and responds promptly to questions regarding training via email and through the online lesson portal. We have taken our pup Java to both the Puppy Elements socialization classes and the Puppy Foundations/Teen Manners classes and we could not be happier with our experience. I have no doubt we will continue to use the concepts Megan has taught us to keep practicing Java's manners, as well as to teach him new tricks and commands in the future. I highly recommend Extraordinary Canines to anyone seeking training for their dog, whether it be puppy socialization and training, managing an unruly teenage puppy, or prevention of/dealing with problem behaviour.

Megan is a phenomenal trainer! Having been in a couple of her classes I really appreciate the respect she has for dogs and for her students. You can tell she loves what she does and is incredibly knowledgeable about it. I have recommended Megan to all of my friends, be it for training, daycare, or scent work classes. She is an expert in her craft and very professional. Could not recommend her more.

My wife and I attended the four week 12 to 16 week old puppy class with our chocolate Lab Ziggy. Initially I was not keen on using food as a motivation, but since completing the course our dog has been outstanding with regards to recall and potty training. Although he is now only 15 weeks old, he has not had an accident for 2 weeks and when I am outside with him in a park or other safe area he is totally reliable to let off leash. He sticks to me like glue and when we do allow him to get beyond our reach his recall is outstanding. The positive reinforcement based training really works for ziggy. I wish I had used this on my previous four dogs. If you're looking for a start for your puppy this is the way to go. Thank you Megan.

Megan is an excellent trainer! After trying many other force-focused training methods that led our dog to regress rather than progress we found Megan and couldn't be happier! She loves dogs and is incredibly knowledgeable and will work together with you on developing a training plan that suits your dog's unique needs. We've notice a night and day difference in our dog's behaviour. In addition, the change to a force-free approach has left our dog happier, more trusting of us, and has strengthened our bond. If you are looking for a certified trainer in the area, I highly recommend giving Megan a call!

Megan is a knowledgeable trainer who focuses on the use of positive reinforcement and knowing your dog’s signals, versus the use of punitive measures. She takes the time needed to explain the concepts she teaching to ensure both the dog and the owner are successful. Highly recommend.

I signed up for a class with Megan earlier this year. My daughter suggested it might be a good bonding and learning experience for me and my dog. Megan absolutely knows her stuff and I was very impressed by her instruction and guidance. She helped my dog and me gain confidence and I was surprised at how much we both learned in six sessions. My dog really enjoyed his introduction to K9 nosework training and I look forward to signing up for the next level!

We adopted our heeler cross in spring of 2019 and were looking for an activity that would be a great mental outlet for him. Being that he can be dog reactive, nose works seemed like a good fit and Megan at Extraordinary Canines came highly recommended.We started training with Megan in the fall of 2019 and it was evident early on that Wiley LOVED nose works but his confidence improved dramatically right from the start. To see him transform from a timid dog has been amazing. Megan is knowledgeable and understanding which has made a fantastic learning environment for us. The benefits of Megan’s training have also been evident in Wiley and myself as a team as the training has assisted both of us in reading each other and solidifying our bond together.Thanks to Megan and her training, Wiley and I have been competing in nose works trials as we are officially hooked!I would recommend Megan at Extraordinary Canine if you are looking for a dog trainer or if you want to give nose works a try.
