Dr. Paul Wu

After experiencing chronic pain and irregular cycles for months I was referred to Dr. Wu. I requested blood work and he said it was not necessary, that I just had irregular cycles and should lose weight. I went to a Naturopath for a second opinion and used her recommendations to get blood work and ultrasounds via my family doctor. They were able to find multiple issues through these ultra sounds which I can now get treatment for. I wish my concerns had been taken more seriously from the start. I requested to be referred to a different OBGYN.

I was referred to Dr Wu from my family physician regarding a large ovarian cyst. I was able to get an appointment within 3 weeks. He confirmed the diagnosis and scheduled me for surgery. I was able to get surgery within 2 weeks. Had my surgery yesterday and haven't even taken one pain meds. Had some initial anxiety after surgery but that is in my nature. Dr Wu is an amazing surgeon. I expected a lot more pain. I am a bit sore but no different than a hard work out at the gym. I am very greatful for his skill.

Dr. Wu was very patient, kind and caring which I especially appreciated considering any doctor's appointments can make me quite nervous. There was a female nurse present during any exam or procedure which I thought was a nice touch, and the entire team in general was friendly.

I went to Dr. Wu after a recommendation by a friend that had been successful at his clinic. My husband and I both attended the appointment. The doctor talked a lot about my weight being an issue for fertility. My husband, trying to ease the pressure of the appointment and take some heat off me (while I sat sobbing). Asked the doctor if there were any tests that he should undergo. The doctor advised him that he shouldn’t bother as “it is obvious that he is not the issue”. The bedside manner is so lacking in the man... I was humiliated. I also thought it quite terrible that even though he could see he had upset me with previous comments he continued on with this fat-shaming behaviour. I honestly sobbed the entire drive home and then some. Talk about a traumatic experience!This was a couple years ago and I was referred to another doctor in the Hamilton area.

I was referred to Dr Wu by my family doctor, I was truly lucky! Dr Wu is an excellent, professional and caring doctor.I had two surgeries done - Dr Wu treated health problems I had with skill and confidence, and left me feeling completely comfortable and secure that my problems were being treated the best way possible. Thank you, Dr Wu!

The ultrasound tech at Dr. Wu's office is fantastic and so kind. Dr Wu gave very little interaction and couldn't really remember any details about me in between visits. During the course of my pregnancy the wait times for appointments were reasonable and the office was professional overall but I had to change OBs because Dr. Wu did not advocate for me when I needed it; my company offered 4 weeks of pre-partum leave and all he needed to do was sign the form, but would only sign off on 3 weeks because I wasn't doing a manual" enough job from his perspective. He also only told me take folic acid as a supplement during pregnancy when later OBs told me I should have been taking a complete prenatal. Overall super dismissive and denying benefits for no reason other than archaic views. I delivered at St. Joe's instead which was a great experience."

Dr Wu and his staff are amazing. I have three special members of my family based on Paul’s care and guidance. I came to Dr Wu from the coldness of the Mississauga fertility clinic world. My guidance was precise, staged in level of intensity, and eventually brought us to IVF. My personal results were grim with empty follicles and retrieval complications of painful ovaries that is beyond uncommon. We ended up with one single egg, one single embryos, and we frozen this one chance strategically as I healed. Dr Wu counselled me to wait, when my body ovulated again we’d know that I had healed and rested from the trauma of extraction. 5 cycles later my body was ready, we defrosted our one shot and it worked. Not only did Dr Wu help us beat every odd and become pregnant but our journey did not end there. He was my OB through my pregnancy, and delivered our miracle via emergency c-section when my induction gave her heart issues. For so many reason I have ultimate faith in the skills, compassion, and thoroughness of the care of Dr Paul Wu. You were an angel sent to my family, thank you beyond words.

I totally agree with another review “ I tried to call the clinic but they never answer the phone, so I left a v/m. They communicate by text only. I received my appt by text & strict instructions about not being late & bring your own mask. I was dreading the appt, because the texts alone came across ice cold.”Please notice, the front desk never pick up the phone and never return phone call !!!! Only text messages. Fortunately, Dr. Wu is a great doctor!!!
