Sylvan Lake Community Health Centre (Advanced Ambulatory Care)

Good for getting lab work and previously recieved excellent care.Few months ago, i came in with severe pain and bleeding, doctor Braden Nord dismissed me, and refuse to even assess me because he didnt feel would learn anything, then critized the medication my family doctor had put me on, after 2 hours of waiting. I went to innisfail ER instead for pain management, then red deer hospital a few days later to find out I had an ovarian cyst rupture. Ive never felt so humiliated, dismissed and such lack of care.Ive previously had great experiences and help but this one has created a new anxiety towards going here.

Great experience when coming to urgent care. Yes, the wait time was a bit longer when there last time with my daughter recently BUT great service from the staff. They do the best that they can to get patients in and out.

Doctors and nurses on their phone stating they were “busy” as I was crying in pain a couple weeks ago. I understand healthcare and this was not okay. The treatment by the male doctor was also not needed in a very high anxiety time. Will be going to walk in clinics in red deer from now on.

Not impressed with the quality of care. I went in with an infection on my face and major swelling; the doctor took one look at me, assumed that it was dental issues because my teeth aren’t great, proscribed topical antibiotics and suggested a dentist as it wasn’t really a them problem if my teeth are bothering me. I left feeling embarrassed and shamed for not having great teeth and a prescription that is useless now that the infection is spreading to my throat and ear.

The staff and doctor were amazing! The care and attention they took for my toddler with an ear infection was fantastic, they didn't make her feel scared or uncomfortable at all. We were in and out in less than an hour with a diagnosis and a prescription. Thank you, from a tired mom, you made this day a little more bearable!

After living in Victoria for 4 years & unable to see a Dr ever this was such a welcome experience! Saw a Dr & had X-rays & on my way in only 2.5 hrs.

We took our daughter here yesterday evening, as the Red Deer Emerg had a 3+ hour wait time.It was well worth the drive, as the staff were incredibly friendly and personable. They treated us exceptionally well and the doctor was fantastic. We were triaged and the doctor examined her within 10 minutes of us arriving.We left Red Deer at 9:00pm and we're home by 10:00pm.Wonderful staff and the health professionals are world class.

I went in and they said they couldn’t help me with my condition. That is all good. But they told us to go to an emergency so we did and they couldn’t register me there because Sylvan didn’t release me. They don’t answer the phone so still waiting to get registered. Been an hour already. Rediculous! Answer the phone.

I could not be more pleased with or provide a higher recommendation than I do for the Sylvan Lake Community Health Urgent Care facility.I walked in at approximately 2:00 p.m., was triaged and placed in the operatory waiting for the physician within five minutes. The further wait (for the doctor) was only another five minutes.The health care professionals are exactly that. Professionals. With efficient protocols, informed, friendly and helpful employees; I highly recommend this health care facility.

We always are in and out with our needs fully assessed and taken care of. Great staff. However, we had an experience lately where a nurse diagnosed us and wasn’t even close. The doctor was very knowledgeable and was able to help us. There was that 10 minutes of waiting between the nurses diagnosis and the doctors, where we were really scared. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else. It was the first time for us. From now on, I’ll wait for the doctor before getting upset. In the end… everything was taken care of. I know I’m being vague. My point is… are nurses supposed to diagnose? Idk. Maybe it was a once time thing. All in all, I like the dedicated staff and everyone is always caring.
