Had a wonderful experience ordering a white wizard baby from Ira! She posted updates in the group while they were growing which was really cool to see. When I arrived to pick it up she brought me to the grow tents and I felt like a kid in a candy story - absolutely stunning! She also has praying mantis hanging around in the tents so there is no worry about bringing any pests home with you :)Appreciated the transparency and her wanting to show customers where their plants are being grown. Will 100% be a returning customer

I have purchased 4 plants (so far) from this small home-based business and all of them were (and continue to be) beautiful and healthy.The owner takes pride in their business and strives to provide healthy sought-after plants at affordable prices. Sometimes the plants are mature and sometimes they are babies. Accurate pictures and descriptions are always provided.Although the owner will provide care tips, I recommend doing your own research before making a purchase. The plants being sold are not your average/generic (big box store) plants and they may have specific care requirements like high humidity.The owner is generally quick to respond to inquiries, but given this is a small home-based business be patient if they do not respond immediately. In addition to the 1000s of plants they care for, they also have small childern they need to nurture and grow. It is always a pleasure when the eldest greets you at the door.As for pricing, I think it is fair and reflects the risk, time and resources spent importing, acclimating and/or growing each plant. If anything, the owner under values their time.

Ira Jones as most of the plant hobbyist here in Canada call her really knows her stuff. She’s meticulous in terms of the quality of her plants to ensure her customers are 100% satisfied with their purchase. She never gets tired of looking after her over a thousand highly sought after rare plants. I had personal experience dealing with her when I encountered challenges acclimating my Var. Adansonii. Her greener thumbs made it look so easy to root my Adansonii. I highly recommend Roots and Shoots if you are in the lookout of these rare collector’s plants. 5/5

Ira is an amazing lady that has beautiful plants at a very reasonable cost! I got my wishlist silver hero from her for an amazing price.She was very helpful and answered all my questions and told me if I had anymore it was ok to ask her.If you message her and don't get a response right away have some patients she will message you back - she is running this home business while looking after 2 little kids.

A single mother with 2 kids who still finds the time to enjoy her plant hobby. She imports rare tropicals from all over the world that most nurseries can't get their hands on. Checkout her Facebook group Roots and Shoots to see what she has on hand, for sale or put your name down for a waiting list. She not only imports but also can rehab plants. Worried about bugs? She has that covered with praying mantis' that are patrolling the plants 24/7.
