I worked for McConnell 10 years ago and said when I left I’d be back. I came back 2 years ago to take the local shunt work, and that’s exactly what I do and love it. Very rarely do they ask me to work a weekend or when I go outside the local work, I’m always asked before hand. As a driver for McConnell, I’m treated the very best by the owner and daughter, dispatch ( which I have to say I have an amazing dispatcher) all the ladies In safety and compliance do a fantastic job with the new drivers to the guys in the shop that never without fail are always there to help me out. Lisa our cleaning lady is the very best as well to keep this place looking the way it does with all of the employees here. I can only speak for myself but I couldn’t work for a better company, you come to work , you do the best you can and you go home. We all work as a team here, im privileged to go down the road for McConnell transport. Thank you for allowing me to learn and grow with your companyMcConnell’s give the new drivers a chance and give opportunities to our foreign drivers Again we all have to work as a team and help each other out and to be kind to each other. I am sharing experience which was not great at all. My husband had a first day of shift and he was so excited and he was going for 10 days trip. He had six months experience but he was just getting 0.44 cents and he quit that company because it was not helping us because we are immigrants we have two families and we are very far away from our home with hopes and expectations. When he joined a company he was told he going to get .50 cents but the time of when he was ready for load he was told they will pay him 42 cents and this was so heart breaking for us .Even they didn’t provide any contract. So, he can read and will make sure in advance then this should not be happened. More surprisingly, have two friends who also joined this company and they going to get 0.60 cents. May be they have more experience than me. But, is person dedication and passion really doesn’t matter? And second people who have a 10 years of experience they never do mistakes or accidents? But, definitely my husband demotivated today with this act. I think we should move from this province where we can find better companies and salary. Thank you all

This by far is the worse company to work for they will promise you the world and that’s all it is broken promises. They should have there cvor pulled for lack of maintenance. They will alway try to run you pass your hrs they will say we can change your elog and that is against the law. The owner of the company will tell you in orientation that how lucky you are to work for the company and will inform you that drivers are a dime a dozen. You will be treated with no respect at all STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

This has been a fantastic place to work. In a time where so many people are about the bottom line; this company is about the people. They go out of their way to cultivate a positive work environment and let their employees know that they are valued. I have really enjoyed my time on this team.

I was notified by a member of the team on 23/09/2022 that I was invited to orientation. That very same member who lives in Nova Scotia had informed me that he was going to the store to get supplies for the impending hurricane. Fast forward to 19/09/2022 I had received an email from the onboarding specialist I believe is her title. I would have to look at the emails between her and I to verify. Anyway, she called me on 19/09 to ask if I was going to make orientation on 20/09. Which was not even the date I was originally given via email from the original person. So, she changed it on her end to 21/09/2022 as it was agreed upon, I would be there. I got on my plane in Newark, NJ on 20/09 as intended. However, after a combination of weather and equipment malfunctioning. The plane needed to turn around and return to Newark. I had emailed the onboarding woman as soon as I boarded my new flight to Toronto. upon arrival in Toronto, I had received an email in response to my request to move my road test from 21/09 to 22/09 for safety reasons. In her response she had asked two things. First was if I would still be attending orientation. Second was Why had I made such a request. Such a conversation I felt it necessary to have a voice conversation. Where I simply stated the facts. That after landing in Moncton I would have yet another 2.5-hour drive ahead of me to my Airbnb. That I would not arrive at my Airbnb until 0130-0200. That and having to start orientation at 0830 I would only get 5 hours of sleep roughly. That a road test at 1600 or 1630 would not be a safe one and I would surely not be at my best. She said OK and that she would run it by the planner for the girl doing my road test. Roughly 30 minutes later I received an email saying that my presence at orientation was no longer required and my resume would be kept on file if anything changes. I had simply responded by asking if I may know what's changed. As optics would have it the only thing that changed is I made a very reasonable request for safety purposes.However, I would like to just point out that my experience is not everyone's. But this is not a good way to conduct business. If you have someone spent nearly $1,000 to accommodate your request for them to attend orientation you should be more understanding. Especially when a hurricane had landed in Nova Scotia and PEI a day or two prior to my departure. But please do not keep my resume. This experience has put a sour taste in my mouth for McConnell Transport. So for anyone considering coming here DO YOUR RESEARCH before accepting anything.

Newer trucks and trailers.All trucks have automatic transmissions.(Likeable for those long drives!)Maintenance is regularly done at the shop.Shop and driver facilities are new/modern.The, traffic managers do their best to keep you working while out & away.> You schedule when want to get off-duty" home time. Dispatch will work accordingly...Being

No doubt equipments are new and well maintained but drivers are not getting enough miles which they really deserve. Mostly need to wait on road for next load. Whenever go to mechanic window staff members speak rudely to drivers excepts few staff members. At last, Drivers deserve good miles and respect from company.

Great US rate . Lots of miles if want to stay out on road. McConnell has a ton of brand new trucks. Dispatch are great . If want to get home they get you home. All in all good place to work . They also branching out to flat deck division. That will be my next step. Anyways , nothing is perfect but at least they try the best
