The Tech Shop

After visiting multiple stores and trying on, what seems like a hundred pairs of shoes, I finally arrived at this place. I had emailed ahead to describe my troubles (Very high arches and Wider feet) and was promptly emailed back with a couple good options and a solution for my high arch.Arriving at the store I was greeted by the staff member, Ryan. He was very friendly and remembered the email. He assisted me with their custom insoles (which i highly recommend as an alternative to overpriced orthotics). They were selling them for $90 which is far cheaper than shelling out another $400 for custom orthotics. They custom mold these to your feet on site.Ryan then helped me with the shoes previously discussed. Both fit very well and he was very patient with me as I tested them out. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. It was nice to see an active runner working for a shoe shop!I purchased the insoles, shoes, and a nice pair of shorts. A very good experience and an amazing change from the big stores... Please consider this shop if you have a tough time finding shoes. Seems like a wonderful local shop! One thousand times better than the larger and less helpful stores.

Tech shop helped me pick my first pair of trail shoes & get into a new pair of road shoes. It’s great to have a shop in the neighbourhood and right next to the parks & paths!

`I had an exceptional experience at The Tech shop in Britannia. They had a good variety of running shoes so I could try out the shoes that were on my list. The staff was amazing and apart from my list suggested shoes that could be suitable. They also put shoes on hold for a day if you need more time to think. The shoe that I bought ended up being cheaper here than any other store. I highly recommend them!

The Tech Shop is a great local running store with helpful staff. When I was looking for new running shoes early on in the pandemic, they were super helpful answering my questions over the phone and suggesting a few different shoes I could try. Coming off knee surgery, I really wanted some decent cushioning and they had suggested a shoe from Hoka One One, a brand I hadn't really heard of, though did see some online reviews suggesting this brand. The service was super helpful and I felt confident in my purchase. Their clothing selection is also great for high quality technical gear that is great for running, general workout, to more technical gear for hiking and winter use.
