Dave and his guides are incredible fishermen and great guides. They are super knowledgeable about the area and knew exactly where to find fish. They were also great teachers for the beginners in our group. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a fly fishing trip in Alberta.

Plain and simple, DBO does it right. My son and I spent four fun days on the Bow River in August catching big browns and rainbows on dry flies. Dave, Dan, and Angie did the hard work each day and put us on the fish consistently all week. Dave is a pro guide ( & former paratrooper) who runs his business accordingly. From initial booking, all communication, daily pickup/drop off, lunches, etc.-- everything was professional and done well. DBO is the only outfitter we will call when headed to Calgary again.

I fished the Bow several times with one of Dave's guides - Gavin Stookes. Some of the best trout fishing I have ever had. (and I have fished all over Mt, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, BC, Pennsylvania, NY, etc). Gavin is super knowledgeable about the river, fish, and bugs, a great oarsman, gives me just enough coaching to get great results. I will fish with him again and often - ASA covid permits!

Fished with Dave and one of his guides Gavin last year and had a great time and caught some really nice fish. Very knowledgable as far as what to use in different situations. Planning on another trip this year for some more great fishing. Would highly recommend this outfitter for a great time.

Fished several times with Gavin Stooks and had some of my best days ever, especially floating the Bow River. Gavin works hard and goes the extra mile to make sure your trip is the best it can be. I only fish once or twice a year now so my techniques are not the best but I still catch fish when I go with this guide.

Gavin with Dave Brown Outfitters was amazing, I've never had a guide work harder at putting you on the fish. And the Fish, these are the strongest fighting trout I've ever experienced. Rainbows and browns hammering his custom-tied, Cop Car Clausers on 7 weights was a blast. Gavin is also a chef, and the lunches were fantastic, even cooked us a beautiful steak, in the boat! Can't wait to go back!

My fiancé, Ryan, and I had a great time with our guide Angie! She was a great instructor and hostess, teaching us not just about the fly casting techniques, but also about the flies, behaviors of the fish, and the local ecosystem in general. Being from Florida, we were familiar with ocean and intercoastal fishing, but it was really fun learning about this other side. We had a blast and would highly recommend. Will definitely be fly fishing again!
