The Lunch Lady

Always delicious and exactly what I ordered (and then some). Friendly, professional service/owner who goes way above and beyond expections. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for delicious meals at reasonable prices.

We have been with the Lunch Lady for the past five years. My kids just love the meals and I really enjoy knowing I'm providing healthy options for them. The fact that I can take a break from cooking for the family, especially during the pandemic, have been a major help for our family. Thank you Sam for going above and beyond!

Awful service. Sam shows no desire to rectify her mistakes. She was very quick to take us on as clients, but once we began using her catering the customer service went downhill. The biggest issue for me was that she would forget portions for children with allergies. This happened several times and left myself and my educators scrambling to figure out what to feed the children. When confronted, she would say “oh I forgot “, as if it wasn’t a big deal. She is also quite hard to reach when I would need to contact her about missing portions or a mistake. The last straw for me was that she wouldn’t send an invoice for several weeks, then showed up at my facility upset because I haven’t paid. She then said that they were changing their system and that’s why I didn’t receive an invoice. How am I supposed to know this?! There was never an apology or discount provided for these issues. When I refused to pay for the service in full (because it has been so awful) she attacks my character, threatens my credit score and my ability to care for children as a licensed childcare centre. The food lacks quality, and flavour. The children did not enjoy their meals. The majority of fruit they provide is canned, not fresh. She also doesn’t know what type of food she is serving (eg. She didn’t know that edamame is soy and provided it for a child with a soy allergy). Do not use this service!

We have been dealing with the Lunch Lady in Kanata for almost 7 years. The service is wonderful and Sam's attention to detail is consistent with every order. Also, there's always variety in their menu and the quality of the food is high and always fresh. Sam is always friendly and courteous ... even during the pandemic, she has gone above and beyond to ensure continued service in a timely and safe manner. Definitely highly recommended.

I have been incredibly pleased with the service, prices, and healthy choices provided by The Lunch Lady. From my children's meals at a variety of schools and functions over the years, to the most recent orders I have made myself, I have had a 5 star experience. The food is always fresh. The taste is healthy and delicious and the customer service is over and above. The Lunch Lady is highly recommended and an absolute gem of a person to work with!
