If you plan to buy a home in the district of lake country, and want to do any sort of renovations, additions or building - reconsider. They are absolutely painful to deal with. I have now had the privilege of dealing with them on behalf of several clients, and they have made it nearly impossible to even do simple renovations. The clients have been left at a total loss, frustrated and with projects that drag on for months. The district skyrockets the costs, with long lists of consultant requests, engineer requests, and property reviews. Unlike the city of Kelowna and even west Kelowna who want to work with their constituents to find solutions and answers to problems, they tell you to go hire another costly professional.

Best place to grow up and live. Great for tourist. Very disappointed that the signage is no longer Winfield Oyama okanagan center. District of lake country. Bring back signage that reflects our districts. Changing name should never have been brought forward. Years down the road when we say we went to school in Winfield no one will know where that is because name has been changed. We are rural for a reason dont want to become kelowna as well. Very Disappointed.Omg so many RATS here.

I live in Lake Country and the District and ran into an issue with low Water Pressure to the house. It's so bad that I can't take a shower in the evenings. Only after I forced the issue did the lady at the district agree to send someone out to check the pressure.
