School of Rock Markham

School of Rock is an incredible place for learning music. I have been going to this school for around 2 years now, to learn the electric guitar and am very happy with my experience. Teachers at this school are not only rockin' awesome, but they're also very thoughtful and dedicated to what they do. If you don't understand a concept once, the teachers at School of Rock will go through great lengths just for the understanding of the student. They go through each element thoroughly to ensure the understanding of the students. And also make lessons very interesting, with more inventive forms of understanding in an inclusive environment to make sure that their students are not only learning, but having fun along the process.The bands are very fun and creative in unique ways. There could be a range of different music that you can learn, from pop, to metal, to rock, etc. and all are from different decades! Not only are the genres very divergent, but the types of band are also very fun!I always look forward to coming to my lesson and band rehearsal at all times of the week, because School of Rock is more like a home than a place of education for me. I met so many peers whom I'm proud to say are close friends of mine, who also share a deep passion for music as I do. And I look forward to continuing School of Rock, and making more friends for the many years to come.

This review will be long because the School of Rock deserves a long review. My son has been playing guitar since he was 9 and we changed so many different teachers and went to many different music schools, it always felt like I was pushing him to practice or go but when I found School of Rock Markham and he started his classes that completely changed he was excited and happy to go and practice at home and he fell in love with Rock Music which makes my heart so happy. School of Rock is a phenomenal music school and they have successfully been able to bring the love of real Rock music to the younger generation. The programs are tailored to the kids ability and even though they are not pressured they grow organically and progress very quickly. Thank you to the staff and teachers you guys are all Rock stars.

My son takes drum lessons here and absolutely loves his classes. He's having the best time with an instructor that really speaks to him and makes him ENJOY his lessons. I'm really impressed with the level at which he is learning.

We wrote this to our daughter's vocal coach at School of Rock. We just wanted to let you know that our daughter loves her vocal lessons with you. She looks forward to them every week and she thinks you’re so cool and an amazing singer and piano player!Although she is not the best singer, we want you to know that you are teaching her confidence (we can hear the confidence with the increasing projection of her voice coming from outside her room each week). Our daughter tends to be on the shy side and has dreams to be a singer one day. To her, these classes are making that dream come true. We want to thank you for making these classes so enjoyable for her.

My 9 year old son watched Eddy Munson (Joseph Quinn) play Master of Puppets in the Upside Down and exclaimed, “I have to learn the electric guitar!” I found School of Rock and love what they offer students through their Rock 101 program as well as 1 on 1 lessons. Their staff rocks. They are very knowledgeable and help support my son’s passion for music. In a few short months, he has progressed and learned so much! He’s constantly noodling with his guitar, and I never need to remind him to practice. He loves the collaboration with other students through the Rock 101 program. And, he couldn’t ask for a better instructor. The instructors are stellar. The school has such a positive culture where kids grow their skills have fun playing music! School of Rock has one of the best programs I’ve ever experienced. I’m excited to see where my son’s music journey takes him. He has all of the support and inspiration he needs at School of Rock. Highly recommended if your son or daughter shows an interest in music.

School of Rock is a performance music school which means it's fun and on target with the real purpose for learning to play music - namely, to perform as part of a band...On a stage... In front of people... With bright lights and big sound... In front of people... Did I mention in front of people? Yes. Live in front of real people. :-)The music directors and instructors are top notch in their ability to both play and teach. It's like you're climbing a mountain and they are your guides. So basically, they're like your music Sherpas. They have your back and show you the way.The culture is positive and fun and the management is excellent. Great place to learn play and stretch your skills to grow and have fun playing music with good people the way it was meant to be. Highly recommended all around! 10 out of 10!But this review goes to 11... ;-)

The School of Rock provides students a safe place to explore their music interests, either in genre or instrument. They also emphasize the importance of working together in an band and foster collaboration as well as responsibility. Skills that are equally important in their day-to-day lives.The instructors are fantastic. They are passionate about music, knowledgeable, extremely skilled and most importantly, they care about each of their students. It is an amazing community that we are grateful to be a part of.

Great environment. My daughter loves to be part of School Rock. Great growing opportunity while having fun and making new friends.

My son Tyler enjoys playing and learning drums at School of Rock! The instructors are great and very helpful and friendly. He looks forward to lessons and rehearsals every week.

We wanted our daughter to learn an instrument, but thought traditional classic instruments are boring. School of Rock gave her the option to learn something fun and she loves learning. Only downside: We had to buy her a drums-kit as she wants to practice 24/7... no more silence at home. Attention parents: School of Rock is highly addictive for your kid!
