Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area

Every person we met had a dog off the leash and we were not in the off-leash dog park. We had our son with us who’s under two years old. One dog ran at him growling! Lovely park and trails but be warned no one’s dog is on a leash. Not sure if we’ll go back as I feel it’s unsafe for children. Not sure why the dog owners are not bringing their dogs into the off leash area.

My favorite Time of the day! Every morning Scribbles and I come here for a relaxing, secluded walk in the beautiful forest while meeting so many great people! I think it went as a secret for decades but now more and more people are learning about it! It’s absolutely breathtaking, especially good if you have a four legged friend with you! I’ve been blessed to find this place, thank you!

Can only hope the city doesn't get involved and ruin this place next.

5 stars for the park, 0 stars for many dog owners.Absolutely gorgeous area with walking and biking trails. It is situated next door to an off-leash dog park for owners whose dogs need to run off some energy. The trails however are NOT an offleash park, yet this doesn't stop people.I set up here for photoshoots 2 weekends in a row now and both times had to face aggressive dogs who were not leashed. Owners have little to no control over their dogs either. I am a dog owner and have taken my furkids through here on a leash and thoroughly enjoyed the walks. We ended up in the offleash area at the end so they could run and have fun. Why can't others just do the same.
