Coquitlam Martial Arts

We didn't do much research and initially only chose this place because it was close to home. We wanted to find a place for our toddler for a regular physical activity, that would also teach discipline, perseverance, where teachers would be both caring and strict when necessary, and which is not just random classes, but continuous improvement with milestones of achievement. After 3+ months we can happily confirm that this place ticks all the boxes. Our kid loves coming here, and since we joined, we've heard from other parents that they did a lot of shopping around before settling on this martial arts school. To sum up — highly recommend and hope to try their adult classes too sometime.*Edit: after reading other reviews, wanted to add on safety. Our kid was 3.5 when we enrolled. The atmosphere here is exactly how it should be for kids: structured instructions for most of the class, and free play/running around in the end. Even shy kids like ours after a few classes start play with others. It never felt unsafe, and we haven't seen anybody hurt.

This place is great for Kickboxing and BJJ training. I have 2 kids enrolled and they are both loving it. Blake is an awesome coach/trainer. Tamara at the front desk keeps everything going smooth and she is an absolute pleasure to talk to! I highly recommend Infight/CQMA to anyone interested in martial arts. Thanks Blake/Tamara for running such a great place.

I've been training here a couple months and I'm really enjoying my time at CQMA. The senseis here are not only knowledgeable and skilled but also extremely helpful and supportive. They genuinely care about each student's progress and go the extra mile to ensure everyone receives personalized attention. The atmosphere of the dojo is electric, with a strong focus on pushing oneself to become better. It's a place where you can challenge your limits, both physically and mentally, and truly grow as a martial artist.I highly recommend this dojo to anyone seeking to learn martial arts, improve their skills, and foster personal growth. I recently enrolled my daughter in this martial art school, and I regret my decision. The coaches are terrible and lack basic teaching skills. They do not provide a safe environment for the children to train in, and my daughter has been injured multiple times due to the instructor’s carelessness.

A fantastic place for kids to gain emotional and physical strength and confidence! The team at CQMA is the best!

CQMA has been a home to me for 10 years, it has talented, supportive instructors for BJJ and kickboxing who take the time to ensure you’re getting the most out of your experience at the dojo and push yourself towards personal growth.

I tried a free kickboxing class with Master Blake last week. Very welcoming and respectable gym. A lot of attention to each student and a killer workout! %100 recommend and I will be going back!

I came in for my free trial classes and went to both the kickboxing and jiu jitsu class. Both Blake and Ryan are exceptional coaches who give u a tough workout and valuable lessons in both martial arts. The team there is super supportive and were willing to help out as much as they could whenever i needed it. The expertise, atmosphere and people you're exposed to here make for classes you just want to keep coming back to.
