Railfan Hobby

I wasn't very satisfied with the service received from Railfan Hobbies. I initially contacted them for a decoder purchase and install last minute on a model that I owned. I knew it was last minute so I didn't get my hopes up but I sent an email. I did receive a reply back in a fair timeframe. They notified me that they had what I needed in stock but they wouldn't be able to help out at that time (it was late in the evening). The next day I messaged and gave more details requested and asked when I could possibly have it back by. It was at that point that they refused to offer the service because the situation was sketchy" and they didn't feel comfortable doing it. All that was needed was a sound decoder set up for a locomotive that had sold and the buyer requested sound. I offered to E-transfer the half or full amount up front and pick up the decoder when done but I needed it as soon as possible. I did not receive the service that one would expect from a hobby shop and I do not plan on returning for future transactions. I will go back to using The Dispatcher who offer much friendlier and reliable service for all DCC needs."
