Leading Tone Music Studio

We've been going the MYC program for the past three years, and my mini loved the lessons. The teachers are very talented in engaging the kids during lessons and are able to keep their attention. I've recommended this studio to anyone that's looking for piano lessons as I truly believe their program is one of the better ones out there. I can't say how much I've enjoyed this studio.

We have loved our first year at Leading Tone! Dora is amazing and so are the teachers. My son is excited to practice each week for his piano lessons. It's been even better than we could have hoped. Highly recommend!

Leading Tone music is a great studio! We have been with them for many years now. The teachers are caring, supportive and eager to see their student succeed in playing or just have fun in it. I would highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to learn piano, guitar and other instruments they teach there.

All three of our kids have been with this studio for 8 years and counting. Miss Dora and her team of teachers is so dedicated to spreading their love of music and they adapt their lessons to the needs and learning style of each child. We all love and appreciate the music teachers at this studio.

I highly recommend Leading Tone Music Studio. This has been our beloved piano studio for the past 9 years.When our oldest daughter was 5 years old, we searched for an excellent music program to enrol her in. I was grateful to learn about Miss Dora at Leading Tone Music Studio, offering a parented group lesson format called “Music for Young Children” (MYC). This renowned program had everything that appealed to us. Hourly lessons, strong foundation, piano playing, listening, & child-appealing activities and instruction. It also aligned with our eventual goals to follow the Royal Conservatory of Music programming (RCM).Our daughter has advanced through both MYC and private RCM piano lessons at Leading Tone Music Studio and is now in RCM level 7 theory and piano. She loves piano!Leading Tone Music Studio is an inspiring place to gain musical literacy. Over the years, all 4 of our young kids have begun MYC and continue to take private piano lessons at the studio. I have been fortunate to take lessons there as an adult as well.Miss Dora, Miss Amanda, Miss Brittany, Mr Sunny and the team are all highly skilled RCM trained pianists and strong teachers who aim to bring out the very best in their students. If you have specific goals to see your child advance musically and flourish in their love for practice and playing, I certainly recommend Leading Tone.Lovely studio, convenient times and location, beautiful recitals, true and measurable progress and motivation.Thank you for teaching our family!

I have been undertaking musical instruction under this studio for 4 years. In terms of my learning of the advanced levels of music, I can highly recommend this studio. Under the teachings of both Dora and Sunny Chan, I have been able to foster a more complete understanding and love for my craft, and now have chosen to embark on continued musical studies into my post-secondary education. I sincerely appreciate the inspiration the teachers at the studio have given me, and I highly recommend the instructors here for their quality teaching, kindness, and caring towards every one of their students.

Awesome studio with amazing teachers! It will be our 6th year with Leading Tone this coming September! Our kids really enjoy their piano lessons with Ms Dora, Mr Sunny and the team.It has been challenging for both students and teachers during the pandemic. Online piano lesson was never easy but the Leading Tone team handled it really well and their students got amazing results from online lessons and exams. A big THANK YOU to all teachers in Leading Tone for their continuous passion, patience and encouragement!

Strongly recommend Leading Tone Music Studio. We participated in the themed summer camp. It was excellent! Our daughter not only received basic piano teachings, she crafted musical instruments, learned songs, was active, made some new friends and didn’t want it to end. Dora and her councillors were incredibly kind, inclusive, patient, and knowledgeable. We will be registering for the fall lessons now!

I truly love how passionate about music all the teachers that have taught me are, it’s always a fun time. From Ms. Amanda Lo who has been my piano teacher for years, Ms Dora who is my music theory teacher and all the teachers who sometimes join into my classes or sub (Ms Amanda Wong, Mr Sunny and Ms Brittany), it is always a great time no matter who is teaching.I love how Ms. Amanda Lo will respond to my texts and give me feedback outside of studio time when I get overly excited about a piece and send a small audio sample.I love how Ms. Dora is so passionate about music and teaching us that she often goes overtime to ensure we succeed (even though it makes her husband angry).I love how Ms. Amanda Wong sat in on my lessons and offered new perspectives on ways to improve my pieces.I love how dramatically passionate Mr. Sunny is, he can literally make the whole house shake. And if you’ve never watched him during a recital, he gets really into some of the pieces.As someone who learns a lot of their pieces based on sound and feel, I love how Ms Brittany played a little bit when she subbed so I could hear how it is supposed to sound (and I love how Ms. Amanda Lo does this too).You can really see that the teachers teach because they are passionate about music and that money is really just a bonus. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without them. As difficult as I can be to teach, I think their patience, dedication and passion have inspired my own love for music. <3

Awesome studio, excellent instructors. Dora the owner is extremely organized and makes sure everything runs smoothly for these kids to learn the language of music. If you are interested in learning to play piano I would definitely recommend Leading Tone :)
