Locally owned Jamaican restaurant. Very clean and inviting. I had take out, oxe tail, and was unpleasantly surprised by how long it took. Although not particularly busy it too almost 40 minutes!The portions relative to the price was smaller than I expected.

Having lived in Toronto for many years, I had my fair share of places that sold oxtail. By far the best oxtail meal I ever had so far. I will definitely be returning. Curry goat next.

Recently ordered the Jerk chicken wrap and festival. The warp was very flavourful, the jerk aioli was really nice, only complaint would be just to add a little more chicken as I found it could have used more, the vegetables in the wrap were diced just the way I like them as well, the festival was really good as well would definitely order both items again, the staff was very friendly and the space was very clean as well, there are not many Caribbean restaurants in the area especially bowmanville, being from a Caribbean background I rate the food and will definitely be back to try other options, I was recommended this place from a coworker.

The ackee spring rolls were delicious! I had those and the saltfish fritters for appetizers. The fritters were ok. I had their jerked pork meal. The pork was not jerked pork. It was more a stewed pork and was just ok.I tasted the oxtail which was ok as well.I hear the steamed fish is great and their curry too so I would return to try those.

Since moving the Clarington I have longing for a good Caribbean restaurant, Starapples did not disappoint. My favorite dish is the Curry Shrimp but there are so many good options. The cocktails and desserts are amazing as well.

It was worth the drive from Oshawa. The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice along with the Dj who was playing some nice tunes. Points for the big roomy booths! The place is small but cozy and clean.We ordered the Ackee spring rolls, the oxtail and special platters which included 2 jerk chicken or fish tacos along with some Mexican street corn and plantains (Cinco de Mayo special). We loved the unique twist of the Corona beer and hope to be back. Overall, we were satisfied with everything and will return for some more deliciousness. I am happy to recommend this place!
