Parkway Lodge

My mom, Beryl Mazur loved living here. She and her husband Ed, my step dad, had a double room ( a little suite) with everything they needed. Parkway, being a smaller care home, has a very personal “ feel” to it. The staff is caring, knowledgeable, and follow all the health and safety guidelines that I witnessed in the times I visited. They used the proper lifts and aids for resident mobility, made meals enjoyable by conversing happily with the residents they were feeding, and continued the pleasant chatting throughout the mealtime with all the residents. Parkway welcomes visitors ( when they can) with open arms- I have had many delicious meals there at the table with mom and Ed and have participated in many activities with them: card playing, music sessions, sing songs, exercises.My mom has since passed on, but Ed is still there in their same room and joins in as many activities as he can. The staff do try and keep everyone as active as possible in a most enjoyable way. Now my sister-in-law, Eileen Kalynka, is also a resident and says she is very thankful she is there and has grown to really like it- “a very good place to be. “During Covid Parkway has posted all of the residents, all of the holidays, every birthday, pictures of meals, all of their sing songs, lots of their games/ activities on Facebook just so families can see their loved ones often.I am an RN who worked in long term care many years at at least 5 different nursing homes in Saskatchewan and find Parkway to be “ one of the good ones”. I would recommend Parkway Lodge to anyone who wants a safe and caring environment, full of TLC.Respectfully, Carrie Kalynka.
