I've gotten many pieces done by Ryan over the last couple of years, it's great to see he now has his own shop. It's totally worth the drive from Pemberton to Squamish to get work done by him in his new very clean shop. Last weekend I took my nephew to get his first tattoo... a simple band around his wrist of 3 mountains. Ryan immediately put my nephew to ease and talked him through it all. There was just an energy and calmness that Ryan projected which made me impulsively decide to have him start the work on a calf sleeve I've been thinking of for the past few years. I have absolutely no artistic skills so the idea is explaining my vision to a stranger and trusting that he could start the process made me really nervous (hence the 3+years of wanting this piece but never moving forward with it). After a 20 minutes of meeting with Ryan, I just knew he understood. He asked if he could free hand it and I didn't hesitate. After 3 hours, I walked away with something that was even better than I could have imagined. He not only took my vision but improved it to something that blew my mind. I got goosebumps and teared up a little when I saw it. If you're looking for an artist that listens to you and can help make your vision come to life, I would highly recommend you give Ryan a shot!!
