Have been getting my Filter Queen filters from here since forever. Generally pretty straight forward and seemed pretty knowledgeable about vacuums. Today I needed a HEPA filter bag for my shop vac.I called Dave's early, as I also needed a HEPA filter for the vacuum and it was only available in Halifax(the bag I needed was also available in Halifax, but from a big chain store). Wanting to shop local/support the little guy, I called Dave's to find out if they had a HEPA certified filter bag. And to my surprise they said they did. Great, I'll be back around noon to pick it up.When I got to Dave's I asked for the HEPA filter, mentioning I had called earlier about it. The lady handed me a bag and I paid for it. After looking it over in the car, I noticed it was not a HEPA certified bag. Turns out, they do NOT carry HEPA filter bags for shop vacs. I could have purchased my bag in Halifax, and gotten my project done today. However now the project will have to wait until the bag can arrive via internet shopping. Not impressed. However, this ordeal has made me realise how convenient it is to shop for filter queen filters on Amazon, and have them delivered.

Had a electrical cord replaced for $150 on my vacuum $58.95 for the cord 69.99 for labour!! 19.34 taxes. I get the price of the cord and taxes but I just paid more thank my mechanic makes per hour. Great service but gouged in labour prices!!!

Had my vaccuum into this shop. This is the only shop in the province that services Bissell vacuums which is unfortunate since I live in Halifax and this shop is in Bridgewater.The vacuum I brought in was under warranty. They did check it over and determined it was clogged which isn't covered under warranty. That's OK.When I was picking the unit up, they temporarily lost my house and hose end. They did find it but it took upwards of 10 minutes to find it.However, upon trying the vacuum once I was home, the vacuum still wasn't working properly and wasn't sucking up even the smallest debris.By the time I could get back down to Bridgewater, my warranty period was expired and I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars trying to fix a vacuum that should have been fixed under warranty.

When did a rug cleaning machine from Dave vacuum hot. Got it home and it was missing a part which is easy to happen when many people were at the machines. The owner herself came out right away with the part demoed machine. All my rugs and mats came out like new; machine worked beautifully and I would highly recommend this company for the service and courtesy and help. Lise Bell

My Bissell vacuum had split hoses upper and lower and beater bar not working called Bissell they advised it was under warranty. Went to Dave's told her hoses were covered but beater bar you'd have to take cover off to see what problem is. Two weeks go by I phone she says nothing done technician not in but was coming in that week. Phoned back in another two weeks she says nothing covered under warranty all maintenance issues. I asked if she sent photos to Bissell and she said yes and Bissell had said it wasn't covered. I told her that Bissell had said hoses were covered. Told her not to do anything, I was calling Bissell. So, I called they advised me no photos were sent and they had received a message from Dave's that problem was maintenance and not warranty. Once again Bissell said hoses are covered and they sent me both via Purolator. I went and picked up vacuum and she apologized for not getting it under warranty (straight out lie). Took 5 minutes to fix and beater bar just needed cleaning to work again because with no suction because of split hose debris wasn't pulled out. I'll let the reader come to their own conclusion.

I just dropped off the vacuum cleaner, the cord will not rewind into the machine. I was just so impressed with the Lady behind the counter and on the phone. She knows what she is talking about and gave me a feeling of confidence, my machine is in good hands.

I was very disappointed in my service. I took in the hose off my vacuum which was being held together with duct tape. I had asked them to look to see if they could order one and if not what it would cost to repair it. I specifically asked them to call me with an approximate cost first as the vacuum had some other issues and I wasn't sure if I would spend a lot of money. I received a call a couple days later...they couldn't get a new one but were able to fix mine and I owed them $75! Needless to say I was very very upset. I spoke with the owner and stated that I was supposed to get a call before they did anything. She said well I had to see if I could actually fix it first. This was unacceptable. I now do not have a hose as I cannot afford to pay the $75 and had they called me I would have told them that. I could have continued to tape it up until I found a new vacuum on sale or that I could afford. I called them and told them I would not be in to get my hose as I could not afford the $75. I would like to thank them for leaving me without a vacuum. I no longer have a hose to tape. I cannot afford a new vacuum.Perhaps in the future you should put yourself in the customers shoes...make the phone call!
