The bunk beds make a ton of noise. The state of the room is run down; the windows are broken. Lastly, seems to attract loud/smelly/inconsiderate guests that will disturb your sleep at 4 to 5 in the morning for up to an hour.

This is a neat auberge/hostel. I enjoyed the atmosphere and very friendly staff. It is well kept, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The lounge is homey. They do your laundry (for a reasonable fee). They provide towels, soap, and shampoo. Free continental style breakfast with toast, waffles, bagels, cereal and fruit. Orange juice and coffee. They also have a bar. There is a wonderful patio with patio lanterns/light with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the afternoon or evening. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay, this is a great option. You have to be comfortable sharing a room and bathroom, as that is how hostels work for the most part. I'm not sure they have private rooms as some hostels do. But it's a great experience, especially when traveling on a budget.

Was pleasantly surprised as you never know when you book a place to stay . This place was clean the staff was very friendly. The room was very nice, bed was comfortable and it was really quiet. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again in the future .

Super close to the bus stop that is going to the airport. staff was helpful and friendly, lots of people hanging around chatting and laughing, makes the place lively. Room seem simple and clean, nothing special (I don’t like those squeaky beds though)

Nice place, met some super cool people. Thanks for the chess. Towels are free, only one bathroom per room but was ok for my stay. Some people were noisy but it happens. Sketchy area but not far to walk to the old town. Thank you

Great people and professional service, from keycards to get access to the bedrooms to the standard beds with outlets, lamp and curtains for privacy. There were minor problems with the support of the outlets by my bed and the shower was with a minor dripping problem, but I believe it will be fixed when they get the chance.

The fan in our bathroom is connected to the kitchen on the first floor. Whenever someone cooks in the kitchen and if our fan is on, we smell everything. It is winter and there is a lot of snow, the mat for shoes could be newer and bigger as I had to use a towel to clean up the dirty snow melted from my shoes.The hotel had a lot of young people during our stay, it was noisy and there was a lot of door opening and closing sound through the night. A lot of people made phone calls in the hallway too. It was not quiet. The pillows and bedding are old, and their pillows are definitely not great. The shower curtain in our room was moldy and smelly. Their shampoo and conditioner was not great. The small bar has limited selection but the bartender was awesome. The lobby on The first floor is not always clean but it is winter so you can't ask too much. They do offer luggage storage services and free towels though. In the room they also have a nice card telling you about the closest grocery store and laundry service. Plus the location is really convenient.

It would be a one star if not for them refunding my extra day. Most horrible hostel experience I have ever had. You don’t get the room you booked because their own website is overbooking them. They didn’t tell me when I checked in. I figure it out when I got to the room. It’s not a big deal. At least they had a bed. But they still should have told me. The room was dirty. I had to clean chewd gum and nut shells off my beds shelf. The bathrooms in the room ok for a hostel, but definitely not clean. There was an old lady in my room who kept switching beds and constantly turning the lights on at 3am every night and I was blamed for stealing someones bed by the staff. I made my own bed. I definitely took an unused bed. And try to extend…like I said. Their own website is allowing overbooking and the front desk says they have no availability. They told me I was booked until Tuesday and when I went to talk to the front desk the said it only until Monday. And there is nowhere to relax expect for a bar. A VERY tiny kitchen or your bed. I am a long term hosteller…I have stayed in many hostels including other Samesun’s. This is by far my worst hosteling experience.

I never stayed at a hostel before but I loved my first ever hostel stay ! It was the best value for money .The hostel staff is very friendly& helpful. The rooms are neat and the washrooms are clean. Plus, the best part is , it is walking distance from all major tourist spots in Montreal .
