Such a great local pet supply store. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. They carry a wide selection of quality foods, treats, accessories, fish and more! If they don't have a product you need they do their best to get it in in a timely way.

Ordered about 3x now, for a cat food I cannot find in my area.Always arrive in timely manner.I like that I’m supporting Local, even though it’s not Local to me.

The customer service I have received while completing online orders has been phenomenal. Questions are responded to within 24 hours, processing and shipping is fast and they even went above and beyond to continue sourcing a product that supports my dog's wellbeing. The service in Blue Barn is always beyond exceptional. The store is very well maintained and well stocked, making it an inviting shopping experience. Always spend our money here when we have occasion to be in Castlegar. We love the selection, and that Blue Barn is such a generous supporter of local animal rescues including KAAP and HEART. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and super helpful. Great local business.

Had an emergency situation with our dog this morning. I needed a 60ml syringe to administer some hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting as our dog had eaten a large pom-pom off a slipper). I tried getting one at the drug stores but they no longer carry that size, I tried Arrow Lake Vet., & after explaining the situation, they wouldn't give one to me, instead telling me to take my dog to my own vet. (which was closed and 45mins. away in Fruitvale).I started my hunt for a syringe at 7:45am, waiting for each place to open. By the time I got to Blue Barn it was 8:45am. They saw me outside, let me in early and took care of me immediately.. before the store was even open. Awesome!!! Huge thank-you!And.. it was a success! 5mins. after administering the Hydrogen Peroxide (in a yoghurt solution), & the pom-pom came up.P.S. Some slippers were harmed during this procedure as ALL pom-poms have been removed from every slipper! No animals were hurt. Phew!!!

The staff at this location are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. I needed Mazuri Tortoise feed for my two Leopard tortoises and the staff here went above and beyond to bring it in for me and they even arranged shipping right to me in Alberta. They are amazing to deal with.
