Chura Hair Salon

I don’t know if it’s my fault for spontaneously wanting to get bangs so I took a chance at a seemingly reputable salon that took a next day appointment instead of going to my usual salon, but am regretting my haircut here. How hard is it to mess up a simple fringe and trim at the bottom to keep the length? I mean- I had bangs before and this was definitely not what I was expecting. I asked for straight wispy bangs at least eyebrow length that would frame my face at the sides. And what I got was something too short and cut way too wide beyond the sides of my eyebrows towards my temples lol. I literally had to tell her to stop midway cuz I was getting worried she wouldn’t stop cutting. And half the time I spent there she was just blow drying my hair before actually cutting anything? You would think at least that the stylist would communicate more with you and ask you how you would like your hair styled afterwards at the end of the cut (i.e. blowout, straightened, curled) for example when she was done... Going to be wearing a hat for the next couple weeks before I get this fixed elsewhere…

Emi did a wonderful cut & colour on my hair. It was my first time at Chura and she took her time talking about what I wanted to achieve and I was very happy with the result. She was professional and attentive, and most importantly - very skilled. I highly recommend Emi. Will definitely be back to see her again in the future.

This is my go to place for haircut. All the Japanese hairstylists are great. They ask what you want, pay attention to detail and provide great service. They take their time and you don't feel rushed which is so nice. I like this new location at international village mall because they provide 2 hour free parking. The salon is in the 2nd floor. It's spacious and clean. Overall, a wonderful salon.

Very satisfied with the hair color and cut here today. Stylists are Mai and Emi. The prices are reasonable as well compared to other Japanese salons.

I like the haircut, I like the stylist, I like the person washing my hair. The only thing I do not like is them not making their prices transparent. They listed $38 on the website, I went in expecting around that price and was ready to give a fat tips from the service when they told me at the checkout the price is $48+tax = $50.xx. Apparently the price is based on the stylist, not the type of haircut or demands you have. I feel pretty insecure going back to this place anymore, because who knows what their next stylist will charge me?!

Been coming to Chura for years back when they had a shop opposite tnt. Even went to their Toronto salon. They always do an amazing job with my hair. Thanks!

This is a great place for a precision cut. Front desk service is mediocre at best but it's worth the hassle to call, leave a message and someone will return your call with availability usually 2 - 3 weeks unless you luck out where there happens to be a cancelation. ALL stylists are great. Some have limited english but they are super sweet so be patient. Many non-asians frequent this salon so don't feel they only cater to asians. Price is super reasonable and cuts always include wash and style (not like the trend of dry cut only and add wash and style options for more $$$). 2 hour free parking downstairs from the mall is super handy. Salon is literally located outside to the right the 2nd floor elevators. Warning parking entrance gates open after 10am.

Always come to Chura Hair Salon for my perm. Mark, the hairdresser always make me feel better and nice after my perm. He is knowledgeable and patient doing my hair including cutting it. Mark is highly recommended!

My mom went to Chura because we saw how popular it was online. The reviews and the price seemed reasonable so we tried to book an appointment. Unfortunately, they were fully booked until September in all of their salons. We were only able to book an appointment for a haircut because someone canceled their appointment. I highly recommend to book an appointment a month earlier for vacation and the holiday season. When we were on our way to the salon, we were confused if we found the right place in International Village since their salon wasn’t on the mall directories. The salon was on the second floor next to the elevator. My mom’s stylist seemed experienced and understood our requests. He also seemed friendly and patient. However, since the haircut was only scheduled for an hour and it took longer, he started to rush at the end (since the next customer was already waiting). Overall, the experience was pleasant.

Loved my experience here. She told me everything she was going to do. My hair wash was amazing and I got the exact hair cut I asked for. My new hairdresser for sure!
