Wooden That Be Nice

Avoid this company at all costs!!! See all the negative reviews and unanswered claim to the Better Business Bureau. Poor communication and clear lies were told by the representative at the company.So I found this company on Kijiji (they have since deleted their account, i can only guess that they after receiving enough negative attention that they just create a new account). Initially the communication was fantastic. Prompt responses etc. However, as soon as you pay for the item it's the complete opposite experience.I ended up paying for the item in mid to late October. I was informed that it would take 3-4 weeks; however, it was not uncommon to receive it in 2 weeks. After 4 weeks I had not received any communication or an appointment for delivery at which point I emailed the company. The representative indicated that the piece was not ready and provided some excuse but indicated that he would contact me shortly. I waited another week and had not received any communication so I emailed again asking about the progress. At this point he got slightly aggressive indicating that the 3-4 weeks was just a estimate of time (we are now at 5 weeks). After the 6th week I emailed him asking for a refund and received another response indicating that these pieces take time etc (then why give the 3-4 week deadline?) At this point I did a quick Google search of the company to realize that this was a common trend for them, along with unanswered complaints to the Better Business Bureau, and quality issues. At 6.5 weeks I had not received any communication and send another email demanding a refund. He indicated that the company crashed their truck and they were making plans on how to deliver the item. At 7 weeks no response and I demanded the refund again at which point a rep responded indicating that now the person making the product was in the truck in the accident and hurt himself. You could clearly tell this was a lie especially with previous reviews indicating that he would have random excuses. So it was clear to me that he was a habitual liar and used misleading business practices to stall their customers into a false sense that the product they ordered was nearly ready. So he finally agreed to process a refund but indicated it would take time and that he would check back with me to ensure the refund was made. After 1.5 weeks I had not received a refund and I called my credit card company who informed me no refund was filed from wooden that be nice. I emailed the company and indicated this and he did not respond. After 3 more days I finally got fed up and called myncredit card company filing a reversal payment and emailed the company to which I also did not receive a response.So ultimately I HIGHLY suggest avoiding this company. Look at all the negative reviews and all stating the nearly identical experiences.

My experience was very good. I worked exclusively with Iz. He responded to all my emails quickly and kept me up to date with progress.The Wine/Liquor cabinet and hallway cabinet were custom made to the specifications I provided and meet our needs perfectly.The furniture is rustic in appearance and finish and solidly made. It makes a great contrast to a more modern decor.I have read the negative reviews, but that was not my experience at all. Yes, it was a couple weeks past the original estimate but it was the holiday season and almost every business has had problems with suppliers for the past year.Of note, Iz made a trip from St. Catharines to Guelph on Christmas day(!!) because he knew this was a Christmas gift. I don't think you can get better customer service than that.I won't hesitate to ask them for more custom work in the future.

I ordered a bed frame for my mom and it turned out absolutely beautiful! The entire thing is made from solid wood that was stained to our desired colour. Iz even went as far as customizing the headboard to include these cute storage shelves, which turned out exactly like my reference picture! Iz was absolutely wonderful to work with. He had open communication the entire time, and always responded to my emails promptly. He delivered it and set it up in no time, and even did me a favour of taking away the old bed frame! His craftmanship is enough of a reason to order from him, but he's also a genuinely kind person! Thank you Iz!

Very poor customer service. I ordered a cabinet which was supposed to be delivered in 3 to 4 weeks and paid a 50% deposit. After 4 weeks without delivery I inquired and was told they were a little behind but it would be delivered soon. I was assured I would have it by Christmas. 2 weeks later, a week before Christmas, I inquired again and was told it would be delivered that weekend. No call, no delivery, so I inquired again and was told it would be delivered in the next couple of days. No call, no delivery...and did not get it by Christmas which was now 8 weeks since I ordered. Finally got fed up on December 28th and cancelled my order and asked for my deposit to be returned. The only positive thing I can say is that they did indeed refund my deposit a couple of days later. (after I sent 2 more requests. ) In all a very disappointing experience. I recommend you find somewhere else to buy your custom furniture.

Late and incorrect order: Ordered coffee table and custom entertainment unit at end of September. Was told in email that delivery would be in 2-3 weeks. Items not delivered until over 6 weeks after I paid the invoice in full. Coffee table is beautiful, but entertainment is not 15 inch depth as ordered. The unit measures 14 inches on top and shelves are only 12 inches, so our electronics do not fit. When I raised this with owner she refused to acknowledge that this was an error and accused me of trying to score free furniture". Had planned to get custom cabinets made for our kitchen but due to delayed delivery and measurement error will not order from this company again."

Highly quality furniture for a great price. I ordered a bedframe and some side tables and was very pleased with the end result. Iz delivered it on time as promised.

I found Wooden that be Nice through Kijiji. After detailed discussions with Mary over several days, I was left impressed with her immediate responses to my inquiries and willingness to problem solve to meet my needs. She gave me an estimated time of 5-6 weeks and agreed to keep the price low, even though it was a solid design, and larger than initially planned....I waited 8 weeks before trying to contact the company again. I emailed to see how much progress had been done. When I didn't receive an answer, I emailed again, and then tried calling. I called multiple times over several days, and left 2 messages....all without a response. Taking a closer look at their website, I noticed many photographs of the furniture pieces were badly photoshopped ...at this point, I was beginning to think I got scammed over Kijiji.I was relieved when Mary finally returned my call... initially. ...but things quickly turned sour. Mary was very confrontational and angry with me for emailing and calling, saying she doesn't have time to answer everyone's questions. I asked for a quick picture of the bed progress, and she again refused, citing her lack of time. She very aggressively stated that it was young" people like me who ruin small businesses

If I could give this company zero stars I would. This company is an absolute nightmare to work with and I would NEVER recommend them. I would advise you to look elsewhere when getting any custom work done. This company is unethical and lies to their customers about completion timelines, knowing full well that you will never get your product within that timeline.I ordered a custom wine cabinet in August. I was quoted 4-6 weeks for completion and delivery. At the end of September, I was told the cabinet was complete. However I did not receive my cabinet until 15 WEEKS after I ordered it. I finally received my cabinet at the end of November. They said they would deliver the cabinet on multiple occasions but never showed up. They never gave me any updates and they would only tell me brief unhelpful information when I emailed them. I was told that I would get my cabinet soon" for 2 months.The drawer in the cabinet is warped and it's causing issues with the drawer closing. The drawer barely closes and you have to shove it to close. We also had to reinstall new drawer slides as they left the screws crooked and sticking out of the slides and therefore the drawer wouldn't slide properly.They never asked me about my preferences. The picture l sent them had long bar handles

I ordered an entertainment unit from Wooden That Be Nice last fall. Even though delivery ended up being a few weeks later than they originally promised, it was worth the wait. The unit is gorgeous and beautifully hand crafted. I’m very happy with it. A bonus was the exceptional customer service I received at the time of delivery. The man who delivered my unit was friendly, professional and he took great care transporting the unit from the truck to my condo. He was also a pleasure to chat with. I would say if you’re looking for well crafted, solid wood furniture at a reasonable price, and you’re not tied to a specific delivery date, check them out!

Excellent workmanship. We ordered a custom made chest/coffee table. The table was what I expected and more. I instantly fell in love with this company. Mary was very kind and helpful in answering my inquiries promptly. You can tell this company really cares about their products, stand by them and pay special attention to every detail. It was our first time having a custom made piece done and this company delivered the goods! I would highly recommend them and I will be ordering further pieces from them in the coming months.
