You gotta try Smiles Seafood Cafe in Prince Rupert, BC. Seriously, their fish and chips are a league of their own, like they've put a bit of magic in every bite. The salmon is off the charts too. This place is cozy with a local vibe and the staff treat you like family. Best part? You can enjoy your meal without having to worry about doing the dishes. If you're in town, Smiles is a must-visit. Good food, good vibes, it's a winner all around.

Quaint little restaurant in Prince Rupert BCWe had cod, fish and chips. It was delicious. The service was wonderful. One lady was delivering everyone’s meals and she was also doing the checking out. We had a beer. It’s like a little diner inside. I believe it is family owned. There were fishermen in the a eating And they were talking about how delicious the food was also.

Definitely a place that you have to swing by at least once if you're visiting Prince Rupert. Best fish and chips I've ever had. Also very friendly staff. And in a great location in town.I just noticed right now that it's temporarily closed? I really hope it reopens, would love to return one day!

Right on the ocean, fish to eat and experts on all the salmon varieties in the rivers. Learn a lot from the folks at the tables about salmon. Really enjoyed this place.

Whenever I make a trip home, I always stop here for lunch. Born & raised in Rupert first 22 years of & there's just something about Smiles that brings me back for a toasted shrimp sandwich.They don't make them like they used to, that's for sure, but they're still good.Considered getting Monte Cristo Sandwich because that's my favorite sandwich on the planet, but Smiles does not prepare with turkey. That's the only thing I'd suggest they add to this sandwich & offer options for sourdough bread :-)

The food here is good. But got to b a regular to b appreciated. Glum looks from our server made it uncomfortable. I didn't care for her, I was just there for the food. Her scowl was annoying though. We ate, we left.

Interesting little place very quaint food is very good and lovingly prepared, larger portions and better quality than their competitors, service was a little abrupt but I believe this was more due to English skills than rudeness, it was still attentive and swift and obviously with the purpose of my comfort and enjoyment of my meal. The place is family owned and not a huge corporate chain so I’m happy to patronize places like this that are the true fabric of the community, I love the dedication to local history displayed by the numerous photographs displayed throughout the restaurant it results in a very warm comfortable atmosphere that adds to the dining experience, the numerous customers all seem to truly enjoy their experience and I could help but to enjoy the positive energy generated by this place. One of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve had in this region.

Delicious clam chowder!The Cod and Prawns special was a fantastic combo! Came with fries and some greens.Wonderful atmosphere and location.Great place for good food at a good price.
