Thank you all for helping and working at the Strachan shelter ! It is so needed in the area and has been fighting with the greedy developers of condos for to long ! To them I say this Strachan house was there first and the need is greater than ever !

Strachan house does have security and cameras but if a person misses curfew they are left out on the neighbourhood streets allnight long and like the Palace do not belong in that high end condo neighbourhood both locations should be in the east end Queen street

I stayed at the Kennedy Road Women's Shelter briefly, and I must say, the vast majority of the staff there don't give a f**k about the people living there, they seem to take absolutely no pride in their work, and act like they're doing mandated community service hours rather than this being their actual paid career choice. There were exceptions to this however, a few who went above and beyond, who were pleasent and hard working. They actually tried to make a positive difference in the lives of their clients. It was relatively safe and for the most part, a drug free environment at this location. The cleaning staff generally worked hard to keep the place clean, however it was not a sanitary environment. And when there were accidental messes made, for example elderly folks having accidents or someone getting sick on the floor, generally speaking, the staff didn t put much effort into getting it cleaned up in a timely, safe or sanitary manner. It was often very disgusting. The food was surprisingly good sometimes, on average..okay. It was sad to know the elderly ladies living there, and the folks who had been there for a longer time. The staff who very obviously didn't want to be there were pathetic.. it was disgusting to see how insensitive, selfish and heartless some could be. They should be ashamed of themselves. But again, others were amazingly caring. I didn't see any bugs and they supplied large lockers for personal items to be stored securely and locked. (Provide your own lock.) Overall, not the worst place to be if one finds themselves homeless and far better than being in an abusive household. Many of the ladies offered each other moral support. There were some in house support counselling generally for housing and addiction services. No Wi-Fi.

Staff and management are very rude and will not Give you a chance in the hiring process and to give you a job out of all the times I have applied never got a response back
