Bonnyville Veterinary Clinic

We took our dog in last Sunday as she had been throwing up and had not eaten for 3 days and thankful the vet came in after hours. He did an examination and gave us some meds and $400+ dollars later we were home. After 3 days I called to see if they knew any tricks to get her to eat. The vet called and said I could come back to Cold Lake after hours for blood work and x-ray. I told her I was at the Bonnyvillle clinic, first red flag. I took her in to Bonnyville and they took her and said they would call me when she was done. I asked if she know how long as I did not live in town. She said no idea. I asked 1,2,4 hours, some kind of idea. She said again I don't know".I waited outside the clinic for an hour and then vet called to tell me the outcome. She suggested we keep our dog at the clinic overnight but the clinic is not manned so she would be there alone. I said that was not an option as she had never been alone and it would be too hard on her. She then said I could take her to Sherwood park. I told her that was not an option either and we would take her home and be with her. She said that my dog had bitten one of them but it did not break skin. She mentioned that a few times but I didn't think much about it as I am sure it had happened before. My dog had never bitten anyone in her life so she was either scared or in pain. Anyway the next day I get a call from AHS saying they were told we were going to euthanize our dog but we could not because she needed to be watched for rabies. First off

Our family received the best care possible at the Bonnyville Vet Clinic! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond from beginning to end. They made us feel at ease and we’re able to answer all of our questions. Dr. Benoit and Alanna were a power team and we will most definitely be going back. Thank you guys!

Im very thankful to have vets that will go above and beyond for their patients, especially in a rural area. Our dog went from very minimal symptoms of an ear infection to extreme in less than 12 hours. The initial exam revealed a ruptured ear drum/infection of the middle ear but less than 24 hours later he developed new symptoms that suggested a brain injury. Because we were unsure exactly what we were dealing with and his condition euthanasia was suggested for his benefit but we were not ready to let him go without trying to save him and our vet supported us in any way she could. It was up to us to carry the 75 pound dog out to the bathroom every hour or two for the first few days, keep him comfortable and watch his every move. However his vet called me every day, even on weekends when she was not the on call vet, for the first week to check in with me to see how he was doing, monitor his improvement, discuss medications and options; and to offer any advice she could during this trial and error to see what worked and what didn’t for his recovery. She spent a large amount of time on the phone with me answering questions, listening to my updates, my concerns and his improvements. I appreciate it greatly and we are very lucky to have a vet that was willing to work with us to save our boy. His recovery will be a long one but he is here with us today, playing with his toys, greeting anyone that walks in the door, begging for car rides and excited as always to see his favourite humans, especially when they bring him treats.

One of our babies got his tail caught on a door. We brought him on Sunday for an emergency visit. Both Dr. Anderson and Alyssa was very helpful, kind and patient with us. Even though I was distraught and a mess. Thank you for taking care of Tesla!

Not open weekends. Pet in distress. Voice-mail left with no call back even when open on Monday. Our pet suffered for hours until death. Despicable veterinary practice.

The cats do not seem to be stressed being there and the staff has treated me well. They are kind and understanding

I took my cat in for emergency treatment. The vets on staff were attentive and made a point to follow up. They went above and beyond what I expected, and it was truly appreciated!!

I appreciate Dr Anderson’s willingness to see me for an urgent visit on a Saturday night as well as answering panicked phone calls about my dogs conditions on the Sunday. She goes above and beyond and is such a pleasure to talk to about the care of my animals. Thank you so much to the whole team of this fabulous vet clinic, I recommend them each time to anyone who asks and will travel the distance.
