They were willing to make me a bowl of noodles sans corn, green onion or msg (dietary restrictions) and did not even question it. Very understanding of them. It was delicious and we will definitely come again!

Great neighborhood branch of pet supply giant Mondou. Superb knowledgeable staff. Huge selection of pet foods, toys, pet cages, games, leashes, beds, ect. Not the cheapest, but one of the best stocked pet stores in the greater Montreal area.

Worst experience at a Mondou. We scheduled a nail trimming for our cat at 8 PM, which was a time given to us by manager and we were denied service. We were told that since we had a little kitten they will do the exception for us no problem as it takes no more than 5 minutes.We arrive to Mondou, coming from Montreal to Laval, for this appointment just to be told that they will not do it. Why? Because they cleaned the nail shop and its too late even though we arrived at 8PM on the dot. I proposed that we pay or even clean their room after them if needed and they still did not want to give us any service. They kept repeating that it was out of their control and did not even apologize for the inconvenience.Overall, the service from Laetitia was very unprofessional and disappointing. I had never had a service like this at Mondou before. She made us feel stupid by saying if we had arrived 2 minutes prior they could have done it. How does that make sense? The time that was spent doing a back and forth could have been passed doing our kitten’s nails. We spent more time talking than having the actual appointment. As we arrived, when the cashier announced our arrival the nail trimmer employee ran to the back while the other employee (Laetitia) told us that they can’t do it. How unprofessional.This added a stress on us to find a nail trimmer just before we left our kitten at a friend’s house for a family emergency trip. What a disappointment.

Horrendous experience.A couple of months ago i had scheduled a nail trimming for my dogs on their website. I was looking forward to a “dedicated specialist” with “advanced training” use their “mastered techniques” to professionally cut my dogs nails while being kept in “good hands” .As per website:“Nail-Trimming serviceWe offer a professional nail-trimming service for cats and dogs. Dedicated specialists have undergone advanced training at our Mondou Academy and have mastered the proper trimming techniques. Your pet will be in good hands!”This was far from the truth ! the mondou employee cutting deep into the bone of my dogs nails making 8/18 nails violently bleed.. The kicker was that this “professional” with “mastered” skills proceeded to try to sell me a product that would slow down or stop the bleeding she caused. Understandably my dogs well-being was of the most importance and so i took them out of that store immediately with their bleeding paws leaving a blood trail in the snow.In theory the snow on the ground should have helped with the bleeding but the damage was so severe that hours of bleeding into the late night continued.. my car and property was blood stained by the end of that night, lets just say it was short of a horrific scene and surely traumatic for the pooches.After contacting the store the following day and being told there was no email address to contact management to show the extent of damage inflicted i was redirected to head office , and was told regardless, that the store manager would reach out to me and make things right.. months have gone by and i have not heard a peep.I contacted customer service i was expecting the situation to be professionally handled. Primarily by relieving the employee of her duty to ensure other pets are not in harms way.After dealing with the customer service, i am saddened to say that was yet again a disappointment they dragged things out for a couple of months most likely hoping the sentiment would dilute over time, but to their dismay it has not.. As far as i am concerned that employee cutting dogs nails into the bone remains active and the head office uses more scripts on their website to defend the harm they inflict on our 4 legged best friends. Instead of correcting the situation i was told the case was closed after an “in depth analysis” yet another false statement written by the folks of mondou.It was clear to me that there was no analysis let a lone a “in-depth” one carried out based on simple math, the case closed email discusses a singular nail being affected which with any form of reason can easily be excused however this employee with “mastered” techniques has made 8/18 nails bleed in one session. And is likely still out there causing damage..After the damages to my dogs wellbeing, likely the fear instilled of any future nail trimmings, and property blood stains the case was closed. i was directed to a link that says mondou takes no responsibility for harm or damage they cause ..“In no circumstances whatsoever (and to the fullest extent permitted by law) shall Mondou or its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, or representatives be held liable for any kind of harm, damage, or loss (including any damage caused to the Client’s pet or to a third party on account of the fact that the Client requested the provision of the Service).”My review is 1 star out of 5 because theres no negative number option.I love my pets and will make sure going forward they are in great hands, on that note i moved my business to an excellent banner one which hired an ex mondou employee who had what to say about mondou’s academy “training”, feel free to ask the mondou employees you come accros regarding this “training”.My advice is seek a proper professional and give business to companies that stand behind their services and products.
