Anyone doing Folklorama in 2022, definitely stop in at the Metis pavilion! Dancing was electric! Food was so good and very affordable!#Folklorama51 #myfolklorama

We enjoyed our VIP tour. The guide and driver were great. The only loss of stars was the Punjab Pavillion, where the entertaining dancers were backed with strobe lights. These can trigger migraine headaches for me. I spent a good deal of the time with my head on my arms. My husband would touch my arm when it stopped but it would start again moments later. I would encourage the planners to show a warning about strobe lights in the advertising.

We took on the Celtic Ireland Pavilion this year. Wow, what a show! This is definitely one to see each year.

A Unique showcase of Ethnic Culture & Cuisine.”This two week summer [August] festival has been a major attraction for the past 49 years!! Each week there are about 22 different ethnic pavilions showcasing aspects of the culture, cuisine, dance and the community in Winnipeg. One can visit two pavilions in an evening (if you stay for the entertainment"). As this year is the 49th consecutive year the various "community based organizations" have considerable skills and experience. The quality of the freshly prepared ethnic culinary delights is nothing short of amazing. The shows are also very well done... and some include live music and singers accompanying the dancers! It is a definite "Must See" while visiting Winnipeg!I hope that this Review has been helpful!!"

We went to the Ukrainian Pavilion on 07/31/2022. The pavilion is very good and the volunteers were helpful and lots of them. Tons of parking and it’s close to the venue. The show was very good and it had a Polish theme that night. The food well, it’s Ukrainian food so you can’t go wrong. Thanks Marj and Randy.

I attended the Canadien-Francais pavilion and it was a blast! It had me moving my feet with the music. The performance was entertaining.Aside from the food selling out from time to time (Tortiere, bannok, etc), there was plenty to eat. I highly recommend coming hungry so you can enjoy the cultural foods served at each pavilion. There were booths to inform you of the different cultures hobbies and history. It's great to spend time learning about what makes each culture so special and the folks running the booths make it easier and approachable to do so.

Last year at the Israel pavilion I was blown away by how professional the dancing was.. the Spanish pavilion was pretty good too. This year we decided to check out Argentina. Was disappointed to hear lots of recorded music, seeing the same 4 ambassadors over and over and a not-so-cultural and too-much-skin/S&M looking outfits during the grand finale. It was uncomfortable and it felt like we were at a club.. it was not appropriate for kids.

I moved to Winnipeg just weeks ago (July2018). As a new comer to MB I was excited to check out Folklorama. My husband and I have been to 3 pavilions now hoping the next would be better then the last. NOPE.It’s comparable to going to see your kid perform in a school play.We heard so many great things about Folklorama and have been so disappointed. The German pavilion served boxed mashed potatoes with canned gravy. The sound system was horrible and it was hard to make out what was being said. The Greek pavilion has kids do the same dance in a circle on stage for the entire performanceThe Chinese pavilion wasn’t bad. The dragon/lion dancing at the end was the best part of the whole show.I think we just expected to be taught about the different cultures, we didn’t learn and we left shaking our head grateful we only paid $7.

Egyptian -show 2019 was a bit boring and the food not the best, but the biggest issue is they have more people than seats they provide not well organized and one volunteer was being rude about seats and only wanted to serve VIP ... very disappointing.Korean - 2019 was the best so far good show! Good food and service , very nice people I wish they would given s nicer venue though they deserve it.
