St. Jacobs Off Leash Dog Park

Huge natural area to explore. The dog park is always empty and it's hard to tell where the dog park starts/ends because of poor signage but it's still a beautiful place for dogs to run

Basically it's a mowed grassy area with a bench, with a trail that runs in either direction. Don't expect a fenced area; and maybe the tennis ball our pup found last week will still be there!

My dog loves it tends to be muddy, watch for the occasional coyotes and snapping turles. Very muddy in spring, icey in winter.

Short loop off the Great Trail where dogs can run and play off leash. A nice loop, kinda short so we usually go around twice. The one downside is the adjacent sewer treatment plant. The upside is walking around dog-friendly St Jacob's after our walk.

Not maintained in the winter (I suggest cleats if you have them for icy areas and boots for muddy areas) but still a lovely area for the dogs to run. Very quiet with few dogs.

This park seems to be little known, and not well advertised. However, it is one of the best dog parks in the area, easily beating Kiwanis, Bechtel, and others. It is more of a trail for dogs and less of a park, because it is not fenced in. However, it is well designed in that it is bounded on one side by a 30 foot sharp elevation gain, and on the other side by a river and it’s offset from the human trails such that dogs can wander in relative safety without fear of bothering other people or being hit by cars. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but there is lots of shade for hot days, and the nearby river means there are also lots of places for dogs to cool off and get drinks. In my experience, it is almost always not busy, and so the visit becomes much more about bonding off leash by walking trails with your dog, and less about a focus on dog-dog interaction.

Just a poorly marked trail through the grass. No fence, so make such your dog doesn't run away and be on look out for coyotes

This is an off leash short dog trail, not a park.

Really nice set of off leash trails. Excellent to visit if your dog has good recall.

It's ok if you know that this is a trail and not a park. There is no closed area for your dog to stay. So it can go wild and go through the bushes and get lost.
