I don’t usually write reviews, but I thought these folks deserve one. I have had many great experiences over the past few years with the owner Gershon and his entire team. Filament Realty is THE one stop shop for real estate investors. Gershon has created a niche in the Ottawa area, establishing a fantastic reputation among small and big investors. He has a stellar team that understand the business and are efficient. Other companies should take note as Gershon seems to have a very good understanding of the Ottawa real estate market and his success is evidence enough.They are also very humble, kind and honest. It’s not often you can find a company that has your best interest at heart.I hope to enjoy many more years of business and success with Filament Realty.Thanks again.

If you're a landlord considering this company I'd highly recommend not. I had used them for a few years without much issues until everything came apart with my last tenants. If you have good tenants then you may never experience issues (unless they're hidden) but, if your tenants don't follow the lease and/or damage your property, good luck getting these guys to do anything about it. I'm in the process of litigation so I'm unable to list everything that happened but, here are some the issues that I can talk about. Take from this what you will.* It started when I when my tenants decided to move out and I was never informed. The rent just didn't show up one month and when I asked what happened, It was only then that I was told that the tenants were moving out. I asked why I wasn't told and the answer was, they as a management company typically don't tell landlords when the tenant is moving out, they manage the property ........ Ok...* Tenants caused damaged and they were not pursued for costs. I was not told about all of the damage but rather found things out on my own personal inspection and speaking to some of the neighbors. Instead of pursuing the tenants, they passed on all the charges to me.* I was left with an unpaid water bill. I contacted them about this and assumend it was taken care of until I got a final bill from Ottawa City which was now largely increased. Had I known they weren't going to pay the bill, I would have and should have cleared it myself. The bill went unpaid for months until it was added to my property tax and that's how I found out.They told me they attempted" to contact the previous tenants but this was all too late. I terminated their services after this ordeal and now

Aaron from filament realty was very helpful for me and my friends during the application process. As we were new to leasing a home he really helped us navigate it and was very fast at responding and letting us know what we needed to secure the apartment. It was a pleasure working with him and we are looking forward to moving in!

It's been great working with Gershon and team!They got my house rented to a nice family. The whole process was very smooth.

I have lived in my building now for 3 years, our old management was amazing, they kept the place clean, were quick and responsive, and always had a team of workers who were around often and very helpful if you needed it.Then this company took over. They ignore your messages for work orders, the exterior of the building is disgusting there has been mud all of the walls and chunks of the stairs are coming off in the entrances for months and they have just left it there.Last time I called them to put in a work order the receptionist told me that I needed to sign into my account to fill out work orders through there, i asked them to send me that information so I could access my account, they never sent it. I asked them again through email, never replied. Never replied to the several emails regarding work orders either.Since they came here they have jacked up the rent of the place to twice the price, theyre charging people for parking and storage which was included in the original rent, and the building is now no longer pet friendly. They even took info off of a tenant's cheques to set up direct deposit without their consent! The tenant had to contact their bank to force stop and backpay them because the management company was unreachable!! Another tenant recieved 2 rent increases in the same year! Same issue, unreachable for resolution.They dont plow the driveways in the winter time, it was the tenants who shovelled the driveway, the tenants who cleaned up the yard in the spring, the tenants who took out the recyling bins and now all those tenants are leaving because they have had enough. Good people who lived here for years, paid their bills and were happy to help have had enough.If you want what's best for you and a good place to live with reliable management do yourself a a favour and steer clear of these guys.

Aaron in a very good agent. If you are looking for a property in Ottawa he is the guy you should be reaching out.At the beggining they asked me right way for a 5 start. It's been 15 days asking everyday for my mailbox and they dont answer the phone, no one is in the office. I supposed they are waiting that I reach landord and tenant board. I mean this is ridiculous Im asking for a 5 dollars key. How can be this something difficult to provided?

Is it possible to give zero stars? If I could I would because of how poor they are with my tenants. I am quite old so I do not know if this is possible and my adult child is helping me with posting this review online. I lost several of my tenants when I brought this company to manage my property.From no communications, property neglect, and slow response times this company is a sorry excuse for a rental company in Ottawa. Landlords beware.

We have recently rented a property managing by Filament. We have not moved to the property yet, but their first impression was great. The agent, Aaron, who showed us the property was very responsible and accountable and helped us in dealing with the landlord. Besides, the building was very clean and quiet which shows it is properly managed by the company. I hope we continue giving them good reviews after moving there.

Updating previous review. Unfortunately - Filament does a great job at getting people into the property as tenants, but from that point have been very difficult to deal with and even get ahold of. It’s near impossible to reach anyone from the office (phone doesn’t even ring sometimes), our property maintenance requests are ignored, they have sent maintenance workers to the house to enter without providing notice to us, and we need to follow up on emails multiple times in order to get an email response weeks later.Aaron was very kind and helpful in setting us up with the lease, so I was disappointed once it moved to the property management the service we receive.
