We weren't there long enough to have a meal or anything but it was a comfortable little place that offered an assortment of food. There was also a neat little inside flea market that sold some homemade crafts and Newfoundland items. Next time we are in the area, we will probably stop in for a meal.

Hairyman's Safe Haven Cafe
Had breakfast and dessert here; the portion is generous and very tasty! Excellent beans with molasses. Also enjoyed the cheese cake with local bakeapple jam, yummy and unique! They also sell artisan crafts here with reasonable price; we got some mittens and homemade jams for souvenirs.

OK, this is a pretty unpretentious place. They are running a little community restaurant out of the Rotary Club hall. But do yourself a favour if you find yourself out this way and try the moose stew. It was absolutely delicious. If moose is not to your liking then know the battered cod was exceptional as well. Fries are hand cut and well cooked. AND it's licensed so you can grab a little cheer, if the attitude of the staff is just not quite enough to do it.
