Laurie and David did an excellent job of restoring the seats of my mid-century Pia chairs. Communication and coordinating with Laurie was both easy and very enjoyable. You can tell that this couple is passionate about what they do and take great pride in their work which makes the experience of doing business with them all the more worth while. I'm beyond happy with the results and cannot thank them enough :)

David and Laurie did a fabulous job of restoring 6 HW Klein chairs..meticulously cleaning and oiling them and replacing the original woven seats with new Danish cord. They are the best furniture in the house now! And it was astonishingly quick and easy to arrange to have such beautiful work done.Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience with Laurie and Dave. They did an absolutely amazing job replacing the woven seats on a set of four Danish mid-century dining chairs that have been in my family since my parents bought them in the 1960s. The quality of work is incredible and the communication and care they took to share the process demonstrates their commitment to their craft. I highly recommend them!

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compel to write one about Caning Canada. I am beyond impressed by the quality of the weaving done by David and Laurie on my 1955 Børge Mogensen chairs. It is superb! And the service was equally good; Laurie told me last fall that they would be in Ottawa in June and sure enough I got an email in early June telling me they had arrived. We made an appointment at 11:00 am to meet in the parking lot of the camp ground where they are staying and they arrived on the dot at 11. Three days later, Laurie emailed me to tell me the chairs were ready and I picked them up the next day. Thank you so much David and Laurie.

I continue to recommend her to clients and I find it charming how she roves about Canada. The projects seem to find her as she goes. I do not know whether you understand what a treasure Laurie from Caning Canada is. Not only is this a way of putting new life onto treasured pieces that need a little work. Whether they are an iconic mid century modern rocking chair or a set of antique dining chairs. She is knowledgeable about her craft and works in stages.
