Uncomfortable place, they deal with objects and documents, not humans. Increasing my pain by waiting too long in Uncomfortable place. Using simple tools and subjective questionnaire to make initial assessments. unfortunately this is the case in most of the Canadian hospitals.. it's a broken system that will not be fixed any time soon.. this is from a patient and a UHN staff

I went to the emergency room of TGH for some medical issues and the nurses were really professional and friendly and got me through the initial triage and tests quickly. I was eventually seen by a doctor in the Rapid Assessment Centre who was very kind, knowledgeable and reassuring. He explained what was going on and gave some recommendations to alleviate my symptoms. I was in and out of the emergency room in a little over three hours which is pretty good. Overall, a really positive experience and I thank the nurses and doctor who gave me such excellent care in the TGH emergency room.

You’re better off going anywhere else, awful treatment of patients. No consideration of patients from nurses, registration or anyone else working here. Nurses working triage should be ashamed of themselves for treating patients with no care.

I had to go to ER because of the pain. My husband need to take our newborn baby to the hospital with me because there was no one at home to take care of her. The family is not allowed inside so my husband and the baby was waiting in the waiting roon outside, which is fine. BUT Because the waiting time is so long (approximately 6 hours), the baby needed to be changed. However, the washroom outside doesn't have a changing table.THe baby is not allowed to go to the washroom with a changing table inside. They asked my husband to take the baby to another hospital, which is too much. I fully understand the pressure the medical professionals have, but giving a baby a safe place to be changed isn't that hard, right? And you know where the place is.

Appreciate the quickness of the first two steps - screening and Triage but after that it was just downhill. My husband was getting severe stomach cramps. We arrived at the hospital at 5:30pm and left at midnight because it took them over 3 hours to do a simple stomach scan. Average time taken to attend to a patient here is 4 hours apparently so one must come knowing that they’re are devoting more than half of their day for small things. I appreciate everything that the Canadian govt does for us but this can be and has to be better.

I normally would have given 5 stars to this place. I was seen by nurses and the emergency physicians quickly. The internistvand cardiologist came and saw me in less than couple of hours and told me the plan and what to expect. They all were very professional, efficient and friendly . Very grateful for their care.Cons: it took 16 hours to get admitted. They could not do the procedure I needed till I got admission. So now everything got delayed till next dayThe emergency nurses took a total of over 10 attempts just to get an IV in and do a lab test. I was just a pincushion. They kept saying that they hit a valve everytime. I have very good veins . I would say 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 if 1was excellent. I am an anesthetist my self, have done a few hundred thousand intravenouses my self and must have hit a valve less than 10 times in last 25 years. They need to train these nurses and,/ or get IV teams back in the hospital. This really made the experience bad and hence the rating. These nurses were excellent apart from their IV skills.

My personal experience was very positive. I had read the reviews and had fairly low expectations, but I cannot say that my experience and treatment was negative in any way.I went to an emergency room during a global pandemic, so I of course understood waiting for 1 hour until I was actually able to speak to a doctor. The doctor was extremely caring, took all the time needed to hear me and analyze my situation and carefully explained everything I needed to know and do before I was well to leave the hospital.Nurse was knowledgeable and kind. She was always running around taking care of multiple patients but she always made the time to help me if I needed something. While I was waiting for my medication to finish dripping and waiting for my blood exam, I was honestly a bit cold. The general head nurse saw me and brought a warm blanket to put our around me, such a kind and caring gesture while asking me to let her know if I needed anything else.I mean, if that’s not the best treatment I don’t know what is.I left feeling better and I’m very grateful for all staff at this place.

Waited with father for 7 hours and never got to see the doctor. Even after being placed in the room to see the doctor, no one ever came. Every time we asked they just shrugged and said they’re busy, that they have 1 doctor tending to ER. Unfortunately we left without seeing anyone, even after spending 7 hours waiting. Will try a different hospital in the morning. Please pray for us.

Im happy with the quality of medical service that occurred to me few days ago, having good doctors and nurses; however the waiting time of 4 hours in an emergency room is a bit absurd.

Worse experience in a hospital. This is my first and last time on this hospital. It’s been the worse service and unfriendly treatment from the staff. I’m pretty amazed how come this hospital is ranked as one of the best in Toronto with such an slow triage process ( 4-5 hours) nurses are rude and un considered. Directors need to take close attention to the emergency service.
