H&R Block

Didn't change my address on my tax return and now I have to wait for my trillium and baby bonus payments til 2 weeks before Christmas. I cant pay my bills. Cant buy my kids snow attire. I have to make 400 last me from today November 19th til December 13th.

My appointment was for 4 pm and lady didn't show up till 5 then they tell me someone for h&r block messed up on my last year taxes and now I owe 4600 and they might help with some of that cost???? It's been 3 days and they still have not contacted me about this. Very unprofessional on George st

My experience is horrible I will NEVER use this company again. I received a letter saying I owe so I bring it to them & they tell me what I need to do this back the end of October 2016. I get the papers all together drop them off maybe 2 weeks later mid nov. I called about a month or month & a half later the guy who's supposedly on it" say oh ya I will look into it if you don't hear from me all is good. Well just this week now end of feb I look online to see that I still have an amount owing I have called 3 times left messages with a secretary who assures me he will call me back never did! I left a very blunt not nice message I will be either calling or showing up at their door today. Wow the money they charge you to do your taxes & this is the kind of customer service I get??? Seriously it's a jok"

Worst tax filing services. They don't even bother about client questions regarding the taxes after completion of applying taxes with them.They are not updated about the latest information on benefits that one can claim while filling the taxes.I never recommend to go for filing taxes with them.They don't apply the benefits for you while filing taxes, even if you are eligible for those benefits.Too expensive for their services rendered.

Professional and easy to talk to. Explains it well and makes taxes easy

So ill give it 2 stars because the lady I dealt with was very friendly and also patient and sweet to my very busy 3yo boy. But a month after filing with them, I didn’t get child tax which currently makes up 60% of my income (they are very aware of this considering they did my taxes) so I checked my CRA account to see what was up. It said that my 2021 tax assessment had NOT YET BEEN RECEIVED!?? Like what? It takes moment for the cra to receive it. Not over a month… So I call h&r to inquire and the lady who answers says “I’m with a client right now but if you give me your name I’ll take a look for you and call back as soon as I’m finished with this person” and of course I never get a call back. I went back on my CRA and it suddenly says “processing” so at least she sent it. But honestly, I paid for a service… AND!! now I’m feeding my kids out of my savings until the child tax kicks in again which is an other issue. My next expected payment is only for that month. So now in order to replace the money I took out of my savings I have to go chase down the cra for the back pay and it won’t be the first time.It’s a real pain in the *hmph*.

Edit to add; yet another terrible experience!! I had to get my taxes done for other reasons so I was in a rush or I would have went to a different location.Ruby the lady who was preparing my taxes said I wasn’t able to claim a certain credit, then once I went to pickup my return another tax lady said I could claim it and gave me my return etc. then to find out in order to claim that credit another piece of paper needed to be submitted at the same time. ( you think the professional tax people would know this) so the cra assessed my taxes and denied the credit that was claimed until these forms get sent in. Not a huge deal, I called them to ask about the situation: ruby became very rude on the phone and instead of helping me resolve the situation she started telling me about how she told me this credit would be denied, and that you can’t claim child care expenses just to “sit at home”. Little does she know I was only off work because I had a newborn at home and that the childcare I was trying to claim was doctor recommended for my other daughter who has special needs. Don’t judge people when you truly don’t know what’s going on. Also if a Tax preparer that I’m paying decent money too says I can claim it obviously I’m going to. So I feel as if the person who allowed this credit to be claimed and told me I could claim it is at fault here. I tried calling to resolve the issue where both parties would be happy instead was treated rudely. In contacted head office and waiting for them to call me back. Second bad experience at this location!Old review;If i could give it 1/4 of 1 star I would!! Absolutely terrible experience... They still have my taxes after two weeks & wont return phone calls or anything. Dont even understand how they can run a business like the way they do. Disgusted with how they made me feel & dealt with the situation. I read the already terrible reviews before hand but thought id give them a try and I regret it. Dont go there to get your taxs done!! You will leave feeling terrible & the supposed to be quick & stress free service will take more than a few weeks!!

Have unrealistic office hours of 4 hrs twice a week which doesn’t work for people who are employed. unable to accommodate or return phone calls will never use h&r block again still trying to get my tax papers back.

Waited 2 hours after my 4pm appointment in the understaffed but also underworked office to see illogical undertrained staff and pay an excessive amount for a tax return I ended up owing the CRA money from them having at it before.They ended up completely confused towards the end having mixed someone else's documents I to my files. Among a whole joke of interaction I hardly have the capacity to write without being induced into rage.Go to Liberty Tax, just up the road, good people, coffee while you wait.. And not for two hours..

I cannot believe how unprofessional the staff were when a non resident requested assistance with filing their taxes, the staff laughed at them and when asked if there was someone else that may be able to assist them, they hung up on them. Adding to the distress of this potential client. It’s a pity that 1 star is the lowest rating available as the service provided deserved less than that. I can’t understand how someone working in a tax practice can be so unprofessional and uncaring.
