Old Southlands Stables

This barn is the best in the neighborhood! The paddocks are big with strong shelters, and the horses can socialize with each other. The field and the ring are exceptional as well, excellent quality. The manager truly cares for all horses boarded and the people working are always so helpful and friendly. There is a difference in the experience you get when there is a TRUE desire for the horse to have the best of everything. Old Southlands Stables stands out and should not be overlooked when you’re shopping for a spot. Excellent experience for the horses and the customer. Bravo!

I've leased a horse here in the past and now my horse boards here. Beautiful field for the spring/summer to graze. The ring has lights for night time and is a good size. The stalls have paddocks. And there is turnout in the ring for days I can't make it down. Everyone is friendly and really helpful and since it's a small barn it's easy to get to know everyone. We are very happy here.

A top notch boarding facility in Southlands. With large, spacious stalls, horses have the option to socialize with each other through the outdoor paddocks, a private riding ring with lights and likely the largest open field in the area, this barn is truly something special. A bit of piece and quiet in the city. My horses and I love it here!

I've been at OSS for 2 years with my young mare. She loooves this barn, and so do I. The paddocks are very well maintained, footing updated annually, lots of rubber mats, and the in/out stalls big enough for my big girl to lay down (which she does every day because she's so relaxed here). The entire barn is safe, well maintained and well organized. The ring has great footing, rideable year round, and there's an online booking system so you can plan your rides/lunges/lessons, which I have found really great as riding young horses can sometimes require a quiet arena! There is a huge grass seasonal field for grazing, and turnout/playtime in the ring is not only allowed, but encouraged. The horses are able to touch, as they all have neighbour's they can play with over low (but safe and maintained) fences which is not typical for most boarding barns and it makes a big difference to their mental well being. The barn manager is very knowledgeable, and there is always someone on property so you know there is always someone watching out for your horse. You can get help with any horse care related needs through the barn manager or staff, it's so helpful to have that support available. The hay quality is amazing and it's a bottomless buffet, they get constant feedings for a healthy, happy gut. I'm really grateful I found this barn, it's made a world of difference for my mares development.

This is the friendliest most supportive atmosphere. Everyone is so helpful and kind. The stable manager Melissa is so well organized and on top of everything, I feel so safe having my mare under her watch. I have never seen my horse so happy and realxed before. The riding arena is incredible and there's a huge grazing field for the horses. I am so grateful for this stable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the best quality care for their horse friend.

This facility is one in a million and truly a Vancouver Special. From the beautiful well kept field, top quality riding ring and in/out stalls with abilities for horses to actually socialize between one another to the loving and caring barn manager, this facility is not a place to be overlooked.I have ridden at many barns across the lower mainland and Old Southlands Stables stands out. Across the street from the Fraser River which follows along multiple Equestrian River Trails and a 10 minute ride through the equine neighborhood to the local Riding Club this is a breath of heaven.All happy horses and happy Boarders/Leasers/Coaches if you want you and your horse happy, Definitely come here!

The best barn I've ever boarded at by far! Management has great communication, is very reliable with taking care of your horse, and maintains the facilities really well. One of my favourite aspects at OSS is the online ring booking system which takes away the stress of not knowing how busy the ring will be when you show up. The community and atmosphere is so easygoing and friendly that I can always count on having a good time with my mare when I come. My mare is so happy and content here that I know she's being taken great care of. I'd recommend this barn to anyone looking to board their horse in Vancouver!

This barn is fantastic! The paddocks are big with nice solid shelters, and having a grazing field is awesome. The barn manager is so organized and the horses are well cared for. My pony and I felt right at home when we moved in. Plus the arena footing is great and harrowed all the time.
