Central Community Elementary

Went here for Grade 4 and ended up having to switch schools because of the severe bullying and incompetent staff. The school may have improved since but I would do some research before enrolling your child.

This school has one of the worst ratings in the entire district, and is in the bottom 3% of all elementary schools in BC, respectively. Walking into the school, it's low rating shows, the hallway where the small bathrooms are smells strongly of urine, there are lots of kids visibly in poverty and bullying problems.Sanitation.. Where do I begin? As I mentioned, the hallway with the bathrooms that have only 3 stalls each and 2 or 3 urinals in the boys' (I don't really know, I'm not a male) smell of urine, you would smell it whenever you walked through the hall. The general sanitation of the school is very poor, the children are not taught to properly clean up after themselves, there's dirt and dust all around the school.The students are poor-mannered, even bad for elementary schoolers, and bluntly speaking, aren't the brightest. Around half of the students were below expectations in the FSA's,There are not enough support workers and EAL workers to suffice, considering that around half of the student population is in EAL, I somehow went through the majority of my elementary school life here being oblivious of the fact that I could not pronounce my th" sounds and was only told about it in 5th grade.The teachers don't have good attitudes and a lot of them choose to slack off

A great school with wonderful staff and teachers especially Mr. DV,the principal, who is one of the best principals I have seen in my life.

Went here from kindergarten to grade 5 and the teachers are all biased (expect my kindergarten teacher, she was nice). The principal also got changed when I was in grade 3 and our previous principal was so much better and nicer.Students were not that bad. Just a few kids were racist af to me for being Asian(not Chinese)(Hey parents, don't send your kids here)

Me and my best friend we’re in this school for 6 years and we got bullied and everyone was really disrespectful my years in this school we’re harsh and disappointing teachers were mean my grade 4 teacher yelled. At me various times and this year I in Kwayhquitlam middle school. I have only been there for three months but I love it And I love that I am not in central anymore

Great school. It has a bad reputation which is very undeserved. My kids have attended this school since 2010. The Principal is great and does rotate every so often. The teachers are mostly super caring people, the EA's are phenomenal and overall just excellent environment. Yes its an old building that could use replacement but character and heart come from within the walls.

Legit my old teacher made me go here because my English sucked and then made me struggle through grade 6, good job :/. Oh and btw that was years ago.

There is nothing good about this place...

My daughter has attended central for two years now. She absolutely loves the school and the staff. Her teachers are a great encouragement and and the academic program is great. Teachers and the Principal are passionate about seeing their students succeed.
