Just stopped by since we hadn't been there for a while. Nice lake off the beaten path. If you like old style camping this is a great spot

We paddled this lake on a smoky hot day last week (smoke from forest fires far in the north). The lake is pleasant. There is a nice beach very close to the parking area, and putting in our kayaks from here was pretty simple. The lake is bigger than it looks, but is easy to navigate. The far eastern section of the lake is actually outside of the national park. There is a creek at the south end that you can take to paddle to Trappers Lake, but we did not try this. There are many nice primitive camping spots here (with pit toilets and firewood but no other amenities), including a few tent-only spots that you have to walk to from the parking lot.

The view, in the right campsite, is amazing! There is no running water, so bring water to wash your dishes. Outhouse bathrooms (2) but they are clean and large. Large beach but lots of weeds in the water but it's beautiful!!

This lake is so beautiful, the only lake I have seen with a fire pit and picnic site right on the beach!

The mosquitoes are unbearable. Lots of people run generators past legal hours. One guy ran it all night to power his C-pap. Said they couldnt leave" because they been drinking. Their neighbors were a new family with a baby so they packed up and left after one miserable night. We moved too."

Beautiful scenery and quiet camping away from the bustle of the national park. Terribly intolerable insect overpopulation; swarms of deer flies and horseflies by day and millions of mosquitos by night. Been to the other lakes and campgrounds and none come even close to this type of bug population. Lake is beautiful with crystal clear water but too many leeches and weeds for swimming. The scenery and tranquility of this place cant compare as it is by far the most beautiful and isolated camping within the national park. Be prepared to be attacked by aggressive deer flies and horse flies during the day. Even with layers of clothing and coats of insect repellent I leave my 5 day experience here with 50+ mosquito bites.

We chose a swampy campsite so there were A LOT of mosquitoes, but there were also quite a few rats running around. Other than smelling like we bathed in bug spray, we had a fun time.

Beautiful small campground away from the Waskesiu bustle. Nice beach and lots of loons. There is no potable water here so make sure you bring your own.
