Ordered the Ajitama ramen black, according to the menu it should be garlicky but I couldn’t taste the garlic. The broth taste light yet makes you want more. Not quite the typical ramen I’ve tried in Vancouver but I like this. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Look forward to try the red version next time.

There's not much tasty ramen places in New West, AKD brings the authenticity of Japanese ramen to the next level around the neighborhood. The staff observes well what customer needs and the chef is an artist to make delicious food

First time coming here tonight since we just want to try out new ramen joint we haven't been to before.Their menu is really small which is a good thing! Quality over quantity. I got the Ajitama Black (soy based) with added spicy option and it was delicious. It had enough richness to it without overwhelmingly so thick and just enough heat that it doesn't kill you. My husband got the Meat Lovers Red, which is Miso based and it's equally as good! You can't go wrong picking either black or red base, but don't be fooled thinking the red base is richer and the black base is plainer. The black base has just as much depth of flavor!I also have to mention the chicken chashu. It was the other most memorable piece of the bowl beside the OMG perfectly cooked egg. That chicken chashu looks like nothing much but it's so tender, juicy, damn tasty.The one that's somewhat lacking on the table was the chicken karaage. It was a little dry and somewhat chewy. But I'm fine writing that one off. Will definitely comeback to get their ramen again and try out other dishes

I’m glad that my friend recommended this place to me. Cute lil resto that’s walking distance from New West skytrain station. I got the chicken ramen and it was really good. I like the fact that they added pieces of greens and the broth was clear yet packed with lots of flavour. They provide the sauces and crunchy garlic on each table.

My brother brought me there for my very first time. I had the ajitama and the chicken kaarage. The chicken portion was decent. The ajitama ramen noodle broth boasts flavours reminiscent of beautiful and arduous labour of love. I could feel the hospitality through the wonderful service. Definite revisits for this local gem.

Akedo has the best tori paitan(chicken soup) in Vancouver. Ramens here are not too creamy and well balanced. This place is only one i crave regularly among chicken soup Ramens in Vancouver cuz others are normally too creamy and you can’t finish it all.

My favourite Ramen place and one of the things I miss most about living New Westminster. Great tasting flavourful broth and they dont skimp out on the toppings. I get the Meat Lovers and it comes with 4 large pieces of Chashu pork AND 4 pieces of chicken. Can't recommend enough!

Best Ramen I've ever had. Flavorful, meat perfectly cooked, it's so good I bought a shirt. Staff are friendly and funny

This is a neat and cozy Japanese restaurant where you can drop by for casual lunch and dinner. Dishes were tasty and there were condiments on side like red peppers, roasted garlics, and sesame seed which added to the flavours. Waitress was also professional and pleasant. However parking’s not easy as this is located in a same building with sky train station.

Chicken Karage was really good. They automatically gave us two mayo dipping sauces without asking (one spicy and a non-spicy for my kiddo). Ajitama egg was spot on…perfectly gooey inside and not overly under or over cooked. Tasty soy and mirin exterior. There were two halves (one 1/2 got gulped down by my daughter before I could snap the pic). Most places seem to only serve 1/2 an egg but this place is good value and gives a whole egg. The Yue Choy veggies were also a non-traditional nice touch that were crisp and complemented the broth. The noodles had a nice texture. I liked having the condiments on the table (toasted sesame seeds, fried shallots, and Shichimi Togarashi) that helped bring a different dimension to the already tasty broth. The only thing I was not too fond of were the slices of chicken breast meat, which I found a bit dry…but that may just be me as I’m not a white meat fan. I would have preferred melt in your mouth pork cha-shu but I don’t think they offer that on the menu without also having the chicken (ie “meat lover ramen”). Service was also quick and very friendly. I’ll be a repeat customer…especially since I want to try their Japanese curry next time.
