What an amazing trail. It’s my favourite trail for walking and cycling with my family. Easy, flat and wide pathways٫ all well maintained. Some ways looks very soft dust which would be good for horse riding. So quiet, you can easily hear the birds sounds. I saw blackcap chickadees, bluejays and Cardinals and woodpeckers there. There are some benches every 200M.Free large parking no washroom.

Nice gravel trail if you're not looking to get all muddy on the hike! Also this trail specifically is wheel chair accessible which I like because it allows everyone to take advantage of the beautiful forest for a hike!

A large, mostly flat York Region forest with wide trails, some rather sandy. Not the most beautiful of the YR Forests, but very pleasant. As an added bonus, you may encounter horses and their riders.

Beautiful place for hiking with family. Roads are big enough to have social distancing. There are small trails too that lovely between the trees.

love this beautiful trail. this trail has up and down slopes. very suitable for everyone to walk depends their like. Some slopes are even good for tobogganing. Many people do cross country skiing as well. I did 4 7km today, it was a loop from the parking, back to the parking.

One of the largest Tract in the York Regional Forrest Trail System. Most of the areas nirth of Vivion Rd. and south of Davies Dr. and between McCowen Rd and Highway 48 are North Tract, and therefore there are entraces on all four streets. As the area is very big, the trails are very complex with many side trails. It is a very popular place for horse back riding and the main trails are paved with sand.

This place can be quite beautiful in the winter! Lots of easy trails, so you’ll never get bored of coming here. In the winter especially, you are likely to see people cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, riding horses, waking their dogs, etc. If you ever find yourself without a parking spot, you can always try going 5 minutes south to the Hollidge Tract or Elder King Woodlands for more trails.

This is a beautiful forest. However it raises the question of whether winter forest users can coexist. What I mean here is that this *would* be a fantastic place to cross country ski and share the trail with walkers and snowshoers but unfortunately (it appears not under current conditions) with horse riders.Perhaps it’s a matter of education as to the simple needs of cross country skiiers, but common courtesy would have users not trample the very small section of the trail needed by skiers.Photo attached, shows conditions barely 24 hours after a significant snowfall and yet almost utterly torn asunder, primarily by horse riders. Under there somewhere are tracks set down by skiers earlier in the day but impossible to find amid pockmarked ruts and divots like the surface of the moon.Could we simply suggest this: skiers to one side and all other users to the middle and the other side of wide trails? XC skiers need a single foot of trail width, literally.Thank you for helping make the forest useable and pleasurable for all non-motorized users.
