Commissionaires - Northern Alberta

I was Detachment Commander in Cold Lake for the Commissionaires 4 years. The company always acted in a fair and equitable manner and truly cared about the persons working for them. They provided excellent opportunities for there employees and outstanding training. There HQ Staff in Edmonton were second to none and I was very proud to be part of this company. Pay and benefits were also excellent and well above average. You will not be disappointed they are the best Security Company in Alberta hands down.

Everyone is so professional and very nice, probably the best place to take your Security license exam.

Beautiful building- we were hired to photograph exteriors by a client. I used to grow up in this neighborhood and this building really cleans up the look of 124 St!

Do you like being over worked and under paid, no?What about having your mental health throw out the window and almost fired because you have Autism and didn't answer managements question in a way they seemed for?How about a HR that tells you everything is going to be perfectly fine when you are having a mental breakdown in their office because you are scared of losing your job, then the next day you are removed from all shifts and told you are on the spare board ?Then you'll love commissionaires.If you have any sorta mental health issues then be ready to be throw under the buss because management is full disrespectful, power tripping, individuals :)

How can you feel safe when the guards who are supposed to patrol and be active on shift are on phone always watching reels and social media! Location: Century Park LRTOne guy broke the enclosure glass and was behaving violently, I was searching for the security and someone told me that he is standing near the convenience store inside LRT, I called him several times but he didn’t respond at all, then i went closely and saw he had earbuds on both the ears and was watching videos! seriously? After that day i started observing him everyday, he is always on phone standing at different corners of station. Safety is a joke under these kind of people. I am sure there are many deserving candidates who want to perform the duty with dedication unlike this guy.

On September 23 2021 I had an interview and was told that I had the job and that if I wanted full time I had to put my two weeks in for my previous employer. As soon as I had the onboard documents completed and all necessary information handed in to the recruitment coordinator, I awaited for confirmation of starting orientation. A few weeks after I completed my onboard documents I received an email from the chief personnel officer for references and I emailed him back with the list of my references. Since then I have not heard back from either of them and have left multiple voicemails and emails. It left me out of work for 6 weeks if I had known this was going to end up like this, I would have never applied for the job.

Parking out front was easy to access.Clean facility. Friendly staff.

I used to ride the train regularly. Now since the commissionaires have replaced transit police I no longer feel safe enough to ride public transit. Lots of homeless individuals in the transit stations and lots of violent people that nothing seems to be getting done about it. People smoking cigarettes inside the transit stations, leaving garbage everywhere and the commissionaires just stare at it and do nothing.My girlfriend and I rode the metro line from Macewan to churchill and a man with a bike got on. It was only the 3 of us on the train and somehow the man came to the conclusion that my girlfriend and I were laughing at him when we weren't saying anything. He started screaming at us that he was going to kill us and to put our hands up. Luckily the train stopped at churchill just in time to get out untouched. The man got out after us and left the station. I told the guard what had happened and he had only shrugged his shoulders and said that if it happens again to file a report.Super useless. Bring transit police back.

Criminal record check department/ waivers/ ect and Reception Has the rudest people I have EVER had to deal with. Was contradicted multiple times. Insinuated I was lying multiple times.Literally turned her back on me to speak. If you don’t need to deal with them I suggest you don’t. All the services can be done by yourself or with another agency anyway.0/10 do not recommend.
