The Rhythm Room

The Rhythm Room is a tap studio that is especially (though not exclusively) geared towards adults of all ages, and of all levels from rank beginner to advanced. The classes are comfortable, accepting, safe and fun environments where students are taught by a variety of excellent teachers. In this non-competitive, supportive atmosphere, students frequently make solid social connections with each other as well.I have been tapping for 15 years, and started as a very “mature” beginner. I have been dancing at the Rhythm Room ever since Jennifer Bishop opened it over 11 years ago, and have discovered that tap is one of the true joys of my life. As a bonus, and because of the nature of the studio, I can thank the Rhythm Room for some of my dearest friends.

I love the Rhythm Room! I am learning tap dance as an adult and it's such a welcoming environment to learn in. This studio, and founder Jennifer Bishop, know how to support and challenge you whether you are a complete beginner or an expert. I've had great experiences with four regular teachers, and the studio gives us great chances to work with visiting artists too. Highly recommended!

The Rhythm Room is THE place to tap dance in Vancouver! I have been dancing here since it opened over ten years ago, and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Owner and artistic director Jennifer Bishop works hard to make sure that everyone has a fantastic experience. There are two locations, classes for everyone from beginner to advanced, schedules that allow for daytime, evening, and weekend dancing, and a variety of the best quality teachers around. But perhaps the best thing is the strong sense of community and friendship that Jennifer has fostered here by caring about all of us so deeply. It's not just my tap class; it's my tap family.

I have known owner Jennifer Bishop for years and think she runs a fantastic tap studio (well, two locations now) in Vancouver BC Canada.The teachers are wonderful (and they often have visiting guest teachers as well) and the variety of class options and learning opportunities is inspiring. They put a show on at the end of the year (around June) if that is something that inspires/motivates you. If not, it is not required to take part. If you have young children or teens who wish to take dance lessons I highly recommend The Rhythm Room, not just because of their teachers and and their class content, but for their community and dance life philosophy.

I’ve been dancing at the Rhythm Room for over 10 years. After graduating and moving away from my home studio, Jennifer has given me a place to continue dancing at a high level, in a social and supportive environment. The teachers are amongst the best in the industry.
